The bee colony is strong, but the honey yield is low; what is the cause?

author:Listen to the bees

We beekeeping need to cultivate a strong swarm of bees to increase the yield of honey, and thus increase our income; but to increase the production of honey is not enough to rely on a strong swarm, if the following situations occur, often resulting in "bee swarm is very strong, honey production is very low" phenomenon appears.

First, pseudo-strong groups.

In the view of listening to the bees, whether a group of bees is strong or not is never to see how many spleen bees there are inside the bee colony, nor to see how many bees there are, but to see the working ability of the bee colony. Swarms that do not have the ability to work, no matter how large, are pseudo-strong swarms. Pseudo-strong groups mainly have the following two situations:

1, the nest spleen is many, but the amount of bees does not match it.

That is to say, a group of bees seems to have a lot of spleen bees, the bee colony is very strong; the actual situation is that the bees are less than spleens, the bees inside the bee colony are tired of protecting the spleen, and the workload is quite large; the collection ability of this bee colony is very poor, belonging to the typical pseudo-strong group.

The bee colony is strong, but the honey yield is low; what is the cause?

2, the bee colony is too large but there is a hidden danger of bee fever.

The bee colony is circulating in the three stages of continuous development, growth, and division; that is to say, when the bee colony develops to a certain extent, it will enter the watershed, and then it will enter the bee division period; that is to say, the larger the bee colony, the greater the possibility of bee splitting; once a group of bees has a bee-splitting fever, no matter how large the bee population is, its production capacity is also very small. Listening to the bee's words seems to belong to the typical pseudo-strong group.

Therefore, in the view of listening to the bees, whether the bee colony is strong or not depends on its true collection ability, and all pseudo-strong groups cannot have good honey production.

Second, the swarm is useless.

Bee colonies in a very strong period, the surrounding honey source is very little, or even no honey source; at this time the strong group not only can not bring honey production, but also increase our breeding costs; because when there is no honey source, bees also have to eat, ah, this time beekeepers have no other way but to feed.

Therefore, in the view of listening to the words of bees, it does not matter whether the bee colony is raised or not, the key is to see how strong the bee colony is at the honey source stage.

The bee colony is strong, but the honey yield is low; what is the cause?

Third, the location of the honey source is unreasonable.

Why is assembly line production efficient? Because it's centralized mass production; everything is concentrated in one piece.

When we collect honey, we want to achieve the assembly line model as much as possible, and we need a very reasonable site choice:

1. The honey source of the bee farm is concentrated and the honey source volume is large; it ensures the continuous supply of "raw materials".

2. The distance between the bee farm and the honey source should be short; this can increase the frequency of collection of bees, which in turn can increase the amount of collection.

3. The altitude of the bee farm and the honey source should be reasonable. Generally, the bee farm is slightly lower than the honey source, which can reduce the work burden of the bees and extend the collection life of the bees.

4. There is no other negative factor interference in the bee farm, such as strong air flow, high temperature, odor, natural enemies and so on.

The bee colony is strong, but the honey yield is low; what is the cause?

The above three points are the direct causes of "strong bee colonies and low honey production". Want to achieve high honey yield, listen to the words of the bees summed up in one sentence: plan the honey picking site in advance, calculate the flowering time and cycle of the honey source, plan the breeding bee colony according to the arrival time of the honey source, and develop the bee colony to 12 spleen-14 spleen bees when the honey source comes, which is the kind of strong group that we want to achieve high yield.
