On the evening of September 7, 2011, Lao Guan wrote me a letter that was almost full of two pieces of paper, accompanied by a small newspaper clipping. In the 1980s, when the Yangcheng Evening News resumed publication, I was assigned to the editorial team of the newspaper's supplement department "Huadi" as an editor, and in the office on the east side of a dangerous building, I met Guan Guodong for the first time, he was the director of the supplementary publication department, and everyone called him Lao Guan.
The old guan body is solid, the cheeks are wide, the eyebrows are thick, and the pace is steady. At first glance, I thought he was a northwestern Man, but in fact, he was an authentic Guangdong Nanhai native, with the shrewdness and calmness of typical Lao Guang, giving people a sense of security.
