Gu Shiyun, a native of Jianshe Town, Chongming District, was born in 1952. He was conscripted into the army in 1970, and in 1973, he was discharged from the army and served as the village party branch committee and the leader of the 16th team. In 1974, he served as the secretary of the party branch of the brigade, took the first college entrance examination in December 1977, enrolled in the Department of Political Science and Education of Shanghai Normal University in May 1978, and taught at Jianshe Middle School after graduation in July 1980. In January 1985, he became the secretary of the party branch of the school. In November 1998, he became the principal of the school. After leaving office in August 2009, he served as the party building supervisor of the Chongming County Education Bureau. From his retirement in 2012 to the end of 2021, he served as the responsible supervisor of the Chongming District Education Supervision Office and the full-time supervisor of adult training at the Yangfan Education Evaluation Center. Sixth, the eldest aunt and the second aunt
The eldest aunt and the second aunt are my grandfather's eldest sister and second sister, and the milk names are light makeup and rong makeup, respectively. Among the five brothers and sisters, the eldest aunt ranked the largest and the second aunt ranked third. The birth years of the Grand Duke and Grand Aunt are unknown, but the Second Aunt was born in 1886, the grandfather was born in 1893, and the Third Duke was born in 1895. The eldest aunt was married to the Yang family at the west of Datongbang Town, and the second aunt was married to the Huang family at No. 36 Taiping Street, Qiao Town, and according to the name of our house, the two aunts were called the Yang family and the bridge mother respectively.
The husband of the great aunt is named Yang Kuang, a geographer and educational celebrity during the Republic of China period, a famous person in the Chongming area, and the pride of our family. In the family tradition, there are various theories such as saying that he has passed the Xiucai examination, and that he is also the president of two universities in Suzhou and Nanjing. There is also a story passed down by word of mouth between grandfathers and fathers, saying that once Yang Kuangjigong and Provincial Councilor Gong Jianqiu went to Nanjing together, and before the trip, the two of them ate tea together in the tea house at the North Railway Station. Near the time of driving, Gong Jianqiu reminded him that it was time to go to the car. Yang Xun said: It doesn't matter, I asked the dispatcher to postpone the car a little. It is said that the train specially postponed the departure time for them, and Gong Jianqiu admired Yang Kuang very much. Whether this story is true or not is difficult to study now, but Yang Kuang took geography classes in two key middle schools in Suzhou and Nanjing, often traveled between the two places, was familiar with the railway department, and had many internal relations, which is true, so it is also in the family circulation, with some elevated elements. Yang Kuang sent his father and great aunt to be a doll relative from childhood, because Yang Kuang was excellent in reading since childhood, and grandfather was afraid that his eldest granddaughter would not be worthy of him, so he specially ran a private school at home, and hired teachers to teach grandchildren, but several grandchildren were not motivated to read, did not leave a trace of reading, and left a few scientific names, and only the second aunt came in handy, and she was famous for Gu Peilan in Bridge Town.
Yang Kuangzhigong graduated from Shanghai Longmen Normal School in his early years, and later taught Chinese geography at the Suzhou Women's Division, and often lectured in Changzhou, Zhenjiang, and Nanjing. In 1916, he founded Nanjing Zhenyi Middle School, and in addition to teaching, he was also appointed to draw the first map of China of the Republic of China. In 1931, during his long trip to Shanxi to take up the Post of Education Department, he unfortunately fell ill with typhoid fever and died in Nanjing. Yang Kuang sent his father to run around all year round, and the two of them gathered less and more with their great aunts, coupled with cultural and personality differences, it is said that this marriage is not very happy, Yang Kuang has not taken her out. The eldest aunt gave birth to two sons for the Yang family, the eldest son was named Han Yu, the scientific name was Yang Keqin, and the younger son was called Jing Yu, whose scientific name was Yang Kejian, and it is said that both of them graduated from college. Han Yu was a lawyer and the mayor of the Bangzhen Town Office, which was in the Japanese occupation era. He was sociable, and he mixed well during the Kuomintang period, and he also had contacts with the Communist party, and on the eve of the communist takeover of Chongming, he went to Haibei to meet the PLA troops, so in the early days of liberation, he was retained by the government. He was a celebrity in the Hamama-jin area, but was sentenced to prison during the rebellion due to his experience during the Japanese and pseudo-Japanese periods, and was not released until 1960.
After returning home, I visited my grandfather and my third grandfather at my grandmother's house many times, and it was only then that we got to know this big cousin. He was very talkative, well-informed and very polite. He had a son who joined the revolution very early and served as a county magistrate or county party secretary in a county in Shanxi. One of his daughters, named Lingen, was born to his ex-wife, and has always been brought up by my great aunt in her hometown, not only with her great aunt, but also with her father's grandmother's family, we all call her Big Sister Lingen, when my parents died, she came to the house to mourn. When my grandfather and the third husband and wife were alive, he often came to the house to walk around, and then when he was older and went to his son, he broke off the information with our house. Jing Yu is a good gentleman, with a pair of highly myopic glasses like the bottom of a beer bottle, worked as a teacher, and then somehow was assigned to the countryside, and it is not the material for carrying heavy work at a glance. He is introverted, rarely comes to the house, he is a famous Mr. Xiao Yang in the west of Hama Town, and later I learned that the little cousin is also the brother-in-law of Director Youjun. Due to the lack of contact, he was not well informed about his situation. Although the eldest aunt has a scientific name, she is still famous for Gu Dan makeup in the Yang family house, she died in the autumn of 1956, and the old man over seventy years old in the Yang family house still has some impressions of her.
The second aunt was married to Taiping Street in Qiaozhen, and her husband's surname was Huang, his name was unknown, and he knew how to make umbrellas. His family has three house numbers on Taiping Street, and it is estimated that the umbrella-making workshops and storefronts were opened there. The name and year of birth and death of the Huang family are unknown, and he died very early. Since he was not a celebrity, there was no legend left in the house. The second aunt also gave birth to two sons for the Huang family, the eldest son, Huang Dechang, the little name is CaiYuan, we all call him Uncle Caiyuan, originally worked in the bridge town porter team, and later transferred to the transportation department of the county transportation bureau. Cai Yuan's mother is a Qidong native, because of the high family composition, the family came to worship on the eve of liberation. The couple were very kind people, very close to the people in grandma's house. The second aunt's younger son, named Huang Yuzhang, went to work in the Shanghai factory in his early years, and later joined the New Fourth Army, and died tragically and heroically when he entered the war with the army in 1950. The second aunt's family did not know the whereabouts of their son until they received the certificate of martyrdom, and he was the only martyr among our relatives in the house, who won honor for our family.
The second aunt has kind eyebrows, fair skin, and has very deep feelings for her mother's family, and always comes to the countryside to live for a few days every year. Because of the small feet, it is not convenient to walk, and I am often picked up and dropped off by my father or uncle Yu Dalian. When there are grandnephews and grandchildren in the house for weddings, she will live in the countryside for ten days and half a month. And in the three generations of my grandfather and grandson, whenever I have the opportunity to go to Bridge Town, I will always bend over to her side to see her old man's home, and sometimes bring her some souvenirs. Whenever we go to her place, she will be very polite, go to the bridge town restaurant next door to order a bowl of noodles or wontons, even if you have eaten, they will insist on asking you to eat, if you do not appreciate it, the old man will be unhappy. Therefore, when I went to her, I was afraid that she would be too polite. When she saw us, she always liked to call us "Little Oh Head" (Chongming's word "little girl"), and she called us very affectionately. Among my nieces and grandchildren, I went to her house the most, and when I went to the South Gate when I was studying or when I was a branch secretary, I always had to visit her house. That year when I left home as a soldier and returned to Chongqing, I went to visit, and in our hearts, she was the dearest relative in our house. Every time she looks at her, she will be particularly happy, holding our hands, asking long and short questions with a "little oh head", and caring about the trivia of the mother's family.
Because of the proximity of the second aunt, our family and Uncle Cai's family are also very close, not only we often bend to his house, but his two sons also often come to the house as guests, sometimes running after school on Saturdays and playing for the next day. The two brothers are about the same age as our brothers and share common interests. When they came to the countryside, they always liked to eat and live in my house, and my mother would always find ways to deduct some food, stew an egg, and stir-fry a dish to entertain them. In the countryside they have a lot of fun, fishing, crab fishing, touching crabs, touching field snails, copying ditch heads... Even picking sheep grass will follow us. This intimate relationship did not end until they cut in line. Brother Zhenglu later went to the basic company, And Brother Zhengyuan went to the Fairview Hotel, although there were not many opportunities to meet, but every time he saw him, he would still not forget the interaction and fun of his childhood.
The kindness and love of the second aunt made us unforgettable, and her old man opened a record of longevity in our family and lived to the age of ninety-five. It was the early winter of 1980, I was teaching at Xinfeng Middle School, and when I learned that the old man had passed away, I took a special leave of absence to say a final farewell to her. More than forty years later, I still often think of her old man's deep love for us. In the relationship between family relatives, the elders love and care for the younger generations, which will often make future generations unforgettable for a lifetime!
