On the 20th, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the 3rd batch of 2022 (the 23rd batch of total) App notices on infringement of user rights and interests. The circular involves 37 apps, mainly involving App violations, collection of personal information beyond the scope, forcing users to use targeted push functions, mandatory, frequent, and excessive permission requests.
According to the circular, in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Law, the Cybersecurity Law, the Telecommunications Regulations, the Provisions on the Protection of Personal Information of Telecommunications and Internet Users, and other laws and regulations, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently organized third-party testing agencies to inspect mobile Internet applications (Apps). As of now, there are still 37 apps that have not been rectified (see attachment for details). These apps should be rectified and implemented by April 26. Where rectification is not made within the time limit, relevant disposal work will be organized in accordance with laws and regulations.
