When I think about it, it feels weird.
It was the early 1980s, shortly after the reform and opening up, and the farmland of the collective production team was suddenly divided into households according to the population, and the production was contracted to the households. Every household does not have its own tractor, let alone a harvester, and can only harvest manually with a sickle.
On June days, the slightly green and yellow wheat field could not be seen at a glance, gradually turned golden, the wheat was ripe, the wind blew the wheat waves and shook, waiting for people to harvest it, and the three summer busy days began. Small pieces of dry land, lack of water harvest early, some people pulled a cart, has been transported to the wheat field.
The eldest sister and the eldest brother-in-law said late at night that the piece in the west of the village could be cut, and they would cut it tomorrow morning. After dinner in a while, sharpen the sickle in advance, sharpen three, and prepare one more.
"Oh, I know", the brother-in-law never sharpened his mouth, found a few rusty scythes, walked to the well, not used for a year, the grinding stones were all soil, washed with scoop water, "clicked,......", began, not a moment later were sharpened. Don't look at the brother-in-law who usually doesn't like to talk, in the eyes of people, he is a skillful person, as if he can do anything.
"Go to bed early, go early tomorrow morning, take advantage of the cool", "Oh", the eldest sister nagged, the eldest brother-in-law promised a word, and went back to the house to smoke, a lifetime of habits, don't look at the cough and can't quit smoking.
People have something in mind, thinking about cutting wheat tomorrow, plus the eldest brother-in-law, and "coughing" a few times in a while. It wasn't until midnight that the eldest sister fell asleep in a daze.
The next morning, the eldest brother-in-law went down to the courtyard with a pair of lazy shoes.
I saw the eldest sister sitting on the steps, in a daze, "What are you doing?" At this time, I am not in a hurry (cutting wheat)", "I had a dream,","Oh" The brother-in-law responded, "Dreaming of my father, riding a white horse wearing a red cloak", "When I arrived at our house, I shouted "Qin ~", I woke up suddenly", "Outside the courtyard door, there was no one", turned around and sat on the steps, saying to himself, "I heard it very clearly, it was my father who was calling my nipple name."
"Blind dreams," the brother-in-law said casually, feeling absurd.
The two were talking, the close brothers of the mother's family in the neighboring village, pushing (on their own) car wind and fire into the house, solemnly said "Uncle Li (last) night is gone", "arrange me to run quickly", the eldest sister stood stunned, half a day did not ease up, teardrops came out, with a bitter cavity, "I just went back to my mother's house to see that he is very good", "The heart is not good, the emergency is sick, it is too late" The mother's brother hurriedly narrated, the eldest sister said, "The wheat is harvested quickly, I worry about them, go home in advance to see, I know that I am old, alas!" At this time, the eldest sister's tears could not be contained, like pearls with broken threads, rolling down her cheeks one by one.
"No wonder, the dream daddy came ,......."
After so many years, I still feel that sometimes dreams are quite spiritual.
