On April 20th, Lexus' new pure electric SUV model - Lexus RZ was officially released, the new car is based on the Lexus LF-Z Electrified concept car, using e-TNGA pure electric architecture, this car will be a very important strategic model for Lexus to transform to pure electricity.
In terms of appearance, even if the new car is a pure electric model, Lexus's iconic design is not less. Although the front face has used a closed grille, the overall design still adopts Lexus's classic spindle design, the front light group on both sides is sharply shaped, and the lower part is also designed with a deflector slot, which gives people a very fierce overall feeling.
The lines on the side of the body are more fluid, the double waist line plus the wheel arch protruding outwards makes the body present different light and shadow effects at different angles, and the B and C pillars are designed to be black, so that the roof shows a suspension effect. In terms of size, the new car has a length, width and height of 4805*1895*1635mm and a wheelbase of 2850mm.
The tail light design is through, and above the tail light is a small spoiler formed by the luggage compartment door, which matches the exaggerated design on both sides of the rear and the rich tail line to make it feel sporty. At the same time, the "L" logo was not used at the rear of the car, but the word "LEXUS" was used directly.
In terms of interior, the biggest highlight of the new car is the use of a special-shaped steering wheel, the shape is extremely exaggerated, but in places where the regulations are not allowed, Lexus is still equipped with a conventional steering wheel for the RZ. The sense of surround in the car is very strong, the center console has a certain angle to the driver's side, which is convenient for the driver to operate the 14-inch central control screen, and the car machine system also supports mobile phone interconnection and OTA upgrades. Below the center control is the knob-type gear shift mechanism, while the button-type door opening mechanism is the same as the new NX.
Featuring the new Steel by Wire variable-ratio electronic steering-by-wire system, the Lexus Driving Signature will give the driver a feel of mindful steering. When the Smart Lane Tracking System LTA is enabled, wheel travel can be controlled according to driving intent, providing gentle steering and smooth vehicle dynamics. In terms of driver assistance systems, the new car will continue to be equipped with LEXUS Intelligent Safety System LSS+ 3.0, which provides basic L2 level driver assistance functions.
In terms of power, the Lexus RZ is equipped with a dual motor drive system, of which the maximum power of the front motor is 150kW (204 hp) / the maximum power of the rear motor is 80kW (109 hp), equipped with a power battery pack of 71.4kWh, and the endurance is not officially disclosed. The new car is equipped with a DIRECT4 electronic dynamic all-wheel drive system that distributes power between 0:100 and 100:0.
