According to Bungie game director Christopher Barrett, he confirmed that easter eggs associated with the studio's new IP are hidden somewhere in the world of Destiny. His answers, and the questions he answered, did not specifically state that this was limited to Destiny 2. But given the studio's development timeline, it's almost certain that this new IP will emerge during destiny 2's development or lifecycle.

In a follow-up tweet, Barrett playfully added that it was all just "maybe," paired with a very specific emoji: a smiling face engraved on the moon. This led some players to believe that this mysterious Easter egg was hidden somewhere on the moon, part of Destiny 1, which was later added to Destiny 2 with the release of the Shadow Fortress expansion pack.

This isn't the first time Bungie has hidden an Easter egg trailer for a new IP in its game. The "easter egg hunt" was also triggered by Barret's mention of Fate's tweet that had hidden easter eggs in Halo 3: ODST. The Easter egg didn't catch the attention of players at the time because no one but the studio developers knew what Destiny was like. Maybe in the future we will also find that bungie's new Easter eggs have always been in front of our eyes, but we just don't know.
