Two years after the COVID-19 pandemic, the town of Lucban in quezon province in the Philippines resumed its annual Buhusan Festival on The Resurrection Day of Holy Week.

It is reported that more than 3,000 people participated in the festival celebration activities on the same day. The Resurrection Day began with a street march at 8 a.m. with the participation of local government workers, community officials, teenagers and NGOs.

During the street parade, some residents could not wait and began to throw water at the procession.

After the parade, people gathered in the square in front of the town government, and the mayor officially unveiled the event. Under the stage lights and music, people held water guns to nourish the water, and the local fire department also sent fire trucks and firefighters to participate in the event.

Songkran, or Buhusan Festival, is a traditional festival in the town of Lucban, Quezon Province, and is held on the resurrection day of Holy Week. It is reported that this activity is intended to show that the sins committed have been washed away and is considered a baptism of rebirth.

Later in the day, the local government also held a concert for residents with well-known artists.
