Being a babysitter is hard work. When you're a nanny, you have to take care of someone else's children, usually with all your heart. You also have to make rules for them, make sure they do their homework, and get them to sleep on time. For the nanny of Kate and William's children, this pressure is innate.
The Williams hired Maria Theresa Trien Boraro as their nanny. Back in 2014, when Prince George was only a few months old, Maria began taking care of him. Maria taught at the prestigious Nolan College, the most famous nanny training school in the world, and tuition is more expensive than Oxford and Cambridge.

Maria is so dedicated that people compare her to Mary Poppins (the omnipotent nanny aunt in the novel), and not just because of the clothes she wears. She started working for the royal family eight years ago, and she's spent nearly a decade helping children thrive. In the process, she learned how best to perform her nanny duties. Maria told the Daily Mail women's channel about how to get the kids to bed and offered suggestions like going to bed before 7pm every night, taking a hot shower, telling a bedtime story and getting a bedtime hug.
During her time as a nanny, she learned the trick of waking up half an hour earlier than the royal children so that they could get up "on time." Also, make a to-do list, turn off wifi all night, and even let the kids choose what to eat once a week – to cultivate their independence. Her dedication to the children of the royal family is obvious, but to be chosen for the job, she needs to learn unique skills at university.
At Nolan Academy, nannies are trained in safety because their clients are well-known people. They also received other special training, including not referring to the children they cared for as "children" as a sign of respect. Maria's character is very similar to Mary Poppins in the novel, and one reason is that Nolan's graduates had to wear unique uniforms, including a brown skirt, a brown hat, and white gloves. Mary Poppins wore similar clothes and wore white gloves.
The only difference between a graduate of Nolan College and a child nanny in the novel is the color of jackets and hats. However, despite the glamorous appearance, being a nanny is hard work. Typically, graduates of Nolan Nanny Academy start at around £42,000 if they work 60 hours a week as live-in nannies.
Maria, who cares for the most famous child in the country and has eight years of work experience, can imagine that her income could be much more than the standard salary.
Maria has now been the nanny of the royal family for more than eight years, and her dedication to the royal family is obvious. With her skill and elegant attire, she could become Kate and William's Mary Poppins.
