"Skin ice and snow smoke water, a hundred grasses and a thousand flowers Mobi Fang", Huang Tingjian's poem, its fragrance and posture are better than a hundred grasses and flowers. And the poet Chao's "Red And Trivial Competition for Spring, After What's wrong to win the bid", it really praises the flower as the crown of all flowers.

But such a praised plant is lost in history: people are not 100% sure which plant it is. Looking at the Flora of China, you can find two explanations for the lily of the dragonfly. One refers to the heavy petal hollow bubble, and the other refers to the perfume monthly season. As for the general belief that the lotus is a hanging hook rose, the Flora of China cites the record in the horticultural monograph "Flower Mirror" written by Chen Shuzi in the Qing Dynasty, and denies it.

It is mentioned in the "Flower Mirror" that the dragon has many names such as Buddha's Smile, DubuQing, Baiyi branch, and Xuemeidun. There are three kinds of flowers: large dry petals, white and fragrant, each with three leaves like a character. The red calyx and the large bloom are pure white. Those who have a dense color are not as good as yellow roses, and the branches are thorny and fragrant. And there are red ones, commonly known as the lavender, nor is it fragrant. Tree taxonomist Chen Rong pointed out in the "Chinese Tree Taxonomy" that the plant recorded in the "Flower Mirror" is not like a hanging hook rose, but more like a perfume moon season. The Flora of China follows this view, and does not use the name "Diplodocus" in the introduction of the hanging hook rose.
The flowering period of the perfume season is from June to September, and the opening time of the heavy-petal hollow bubble is from June to July, which obviously does not coincide with the opening of the lotus in late spring. Moreover, under Ouyang Xiu's pen, the dragonfly was already in a state of "scattering heavenly incense" during the Qingming Dynasty, so how could it be delayed until June, which was already early summer?

But no matter which kind of plant it is, as a plant that is about to play the final song of spring, it carries the sadness and helplessness of the end of the flowering period. Therefore, it is also often used as a metaphor for the perishable Shaohua. "Blooming to the flowers", after all, still cast a layer of regret and sadness over this plant.
In the plot of the 63rd "Shouyi Hongqunfang Opening Night Feast" in "Dream of the Red Chamber", the ladies who are good with Baoyu gather money to celebrate Baoyu's birthday. During the banquet, Bao Chao, Tan Chun, Li Feng, Xiang Yun, Musk Yue, Xiang Ling, Dai Yu, and Raider each plucked a flower, all of which were related to their respective personalities and destinies. In the Baoyu room, the bearded musk moon was signed with the "Tulip Flower", which was inscribed with "Shaohua Shengji", and also wrote "Blooming to the Tulip Flower Thing", And ZhuYun "Drank three cups each at the table to send spring". Musk Yue didn't understand and asked Bao Yu what it was. How did Baoyu react? Bao Yu frowned and hid the signature and said, "Let's drink." ”
Bao Yu must have understood the sadness of the hundred flowers after the blossoming of this flower, which was the reason for diverting the topic from drinking. Whether it is "flowers" or "sending spring", it heralds the end of the tragedy. Behind the "Shaohua Shengji" is the prosperity pole that will decline, it is a cave of thousands of reds (harmonic "crying"), Wan Yan tong cup (harmonic "sad"). Li Yanzhai's annotation reveals that the tulip flower, as the last flower to open before the "flower thing", also means that after the defeat of the Jia family, Musk Yue is the only one who remains with Baoyu.
"The dragon does not compete for spring, and loneliness blooms at the latest." No one can ignore the beauty of the tuna, and even Su Shi has a special affection for the tsubasa to show his ambition to advocate indifference. Perhaps, like "a thousand readers have a thousand Hamlets", everyone has their own "worms" in their hearts. If you can't be sure what kind of plant it is, it is better to leave yourself some room for reverie, after all, for the plant, it is unique in cultural meaning, and no flower can replace it. Aesthetics and imagination are the most precious experiences that people get from the dragon.
