He has contributed countless golden sentences to programs such as "Round Table Pie" and "Threesomes", and has also served as the final jury of well-known film awards and hosted film festivals, but Ma Jiahui said that his favorite is writing. Recently, Ma Jiahui launched his latest essay collection "Uncle" to talk to readers about the road he has "traveled".

From a teenager to an uncle, it is a period of growth and maturity that is visible to the naked eye. Many people expect maturity and are afraid of growth, in this book, you can vaguely see the maturity and growth of a middle-aged man. Light and sharp, humorous and vivid, all of which are daily moving and emotional.

In his new book" "Uncle", Ma Jiahui also talks many times about the influence of the city of Hong Kong on him. He said that since 1841, generation after generation of Hong Kong people have migrated here from all directions for different reasons to survive and find a way to survive, and the hard work of Hong Kong people has achieved Hong Kong's economic and social achievements. "If you are looking for a Hong Kong son from the show business, the first choice is Chow Yun Fat." He said that although Chow Yun Fat is already a shining superstar, he lives the same life as ordinary people by taking the subway everywhere in his daily life, squatting in food stalls to play the side stove, wearing slippers to Kowloon City to buy vegetables, queuing up for medical treatment, etc. "Hong Kong is a city that can tolerate a normal heart, the prosperity is still not over, but it has enjoyed the ordinary, such as Chow Yun Fat, which is the best reflection of the spirit of Hong Kong." Ma Jiahui wrote.

On April 12, Ma Jiahui replied to media questions about the new book.

To grow, you must have "inspiration"

Q: How do you see growth?

Ma Jiahui: Along the way, it is different life stages, we all pursue growth, growth and growth are positive, go up, go forward, there must always be motivation, then I think, the key source of this motivation lies in whether you have "inspiration". It's very old-fashioned, right, but why are some of the words old-fashioned, because those words are right, so they have to be repeated repeatedly, so they feel old-fashioned, but I remind you, the more clichéd the more real the words.

Q: As you can see from this book, you attach great importance to your family, can you share it?

Ma Jiahui: I attach great importance to family, my name is Ma Jiahui, the family's home, the value of the family, for me the weight is very large, so I grew up, make decisions and choices, put the family in front.

There are too many stories. I said well, when I look back, there was a trip that was the most memorable in my heart, not that I went to Istanbul alone, walked alone in the Golden Triangle of Southeast Asia, and drunk on the streets of Seoul, South Korea, not these adventurous experiences, but one year, around 1998, 1999, our family, my parents, my sister, my sister, my wife, my children, traveled to Bangkok together, lived in one place for a week, played together, chatted together.

I like to be both hard and soft in the process of reading

Q: How did you develop your ability to look at things and grow into them?

Ma Jiahui: The main thing is to read, to read and look at other people's views, to see the expression methods of other people, other writers, and critics, which I do to this day. I like to be both hard and soft in the process of reading. Usually after reading two novels, soft literature, I read one or two critical, theoretical hard books, not only in terms of emotions, there seems to be a balance, a reconciliation, but also in the thinking of the whole mind. And writing is a job, and that work is like carpentry and other sports, which must be practiced continuously.

Since I started writing columns, my gosh, I've been writing for 40 years! From the age of 18, I started writing, writing every day, and almost no day I didn't write. Just like the powerful martial arts master Ip Man, can he go a day without practicing boxing and not practicing Wing Chun? Foshan Ip Man and Wan Chai Jiahui are all based on continuous practice.

If conditions permit, don't rush to roll inside

Q: Can you give your younger friends some advice?

Ma Jiahui: There is really no answer to this, everyone's situation is different, which school are you in, what department you are studying, what are your grades, whether you have family support, do you need to come out to work immediately to make money, it is completely different, there is no unified answer. That can only be said to have some sharing to refer to.

For example, if you can, I always feel that there is no need to rush out to work. Of course, some people will say that the inner volume, the competition, but people for a lifetime, say long is not long, say short is not short, do not worry too much. Just graduated, twenty-two or three years old, it is still early, and there is youth for you to waste, first waste a year or two of youth, whether it is traveling around, whether it is walking around abroad or at home, or you can do something you want to do.

The second point that can be shared, if you are going to come out to work, don't just look at what this work gives you, but look at the second step where I took this step, where this step can take me. We're going to stretch the time.

Deal with health issues first and support the ideal of continuing to write

Q: Do you have any ideas and plans for your future?

Ma Jiahui: You have to plan for the future, because you always have to look at the future and run, otherwise it is easy to step back in place. Publishing "Uncle", let me re-watch the process of editing those prose, as if I had revived it. A lot of memories, the experience of the time have come back.

People at different ages have to face different problems, for example, I am writing, what projects, plans, I want to complete, not yet completed, I must complete it, but the premise is that I have the energy to complete it. Therefore, it is more urgent to deal with some problems of my physical health, because my family genes are not very good, my grandfather died at the age of 55, my grandmother died at the age of 56, I am 58 years old this year, which is equivalent to earning, but I am not in good health, and I am reborn from all diseases, so I try to manage my physical health as much as possible to support me to continue to complete my writing ideals.
