Under the epidemic situation, travel presses the "pause button", but reading at home and meditating will not stop.

Under the guidance of the Propaganda Department of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, the Shanghai Municipal Federation of Social Societies, Century Publishing Group and Wen Wei Po Specially planned the theme activity of "The Power of Reading , Always Together", which was launched on April 1, inviting Shanghai scholars and writers to make "1 + N" recommendations for readers - you can recommend an excellent book, you can also recommend a song, a movie, or even a good article, share the experience of reading and watching, and jointly highlight the confidence and hope of reading with the power and the same heart to the spring. The event will run until World Book Day on 23 April.

Yan Feng's recommendation: Classics that are worth revisiting are enough to resist the wear and tear of the world

In my lifetime, I'll have to look at this book in about two or three years, as if a patient were going to take regular medication. If you encounter some extra unpleasant things, you will also take them extra irregularly.

After taking it, I feel that the sky is high and beautiful, the spirit is full of energy, the heart is clear and the lungs are clear, as if the battery that has run out is full of electricity, and it can be thrown into the loss of the world.

Some of the films you watched with 3D glasses, some of which you watched with colored glasses, some of which you watched with various theories... But there is also a kind of film you watch as long as you bring your own emotions and memories, let go of all the willingness to judge, and completely surrender yourself to laughter and tears.

Believe me, if you can come across a film like "Hello, Lee Huan Ying", it is your luck. Don't miss, don't raise the bar, don't score, follow the guidance of emotion, you will appreciate some of the warmest feelings, see some of the most beautiful scenery.

"A clear stream in front of the door, two lines of weeping willows on the shore, the scenery is still the same every year, only the flowing water always goes away and does not look back, the flowing water yo! Please don't take your time away. "Mr. He Luting's music is very simple and good, but there is no kitsch.

"Clear Stream" is like a trickle of clear streams, written around 1935, exquisite and warm, this song is a good portrayal.

Hu Xiaoming's recommendation:

What I'm sharing with you is Stephen Zweig's The Story of Chess.

When you first read this novel, you might mistakenly think it's a simple story of two people playing chess. But when you really read it, you will find that behind the chess game, hidden is the protagonist Dr. B's experience of being imprisoned by fascism but accidentally obtaining a chess score, obtaining spiritual salvation but moving towards spiritual destruction; behind Dr. B, there is hidden the fascist's wounds on European culture, hiding Zweig' exclamation that humanist Europe has gone through two world wars and is moving toward destruction, just like he wrote in his will before committing suicide, "The world that speaks the same language as me has sunk for me. My spiritual homeland of Europe has also self-destructed."

What kind of revelation does re-reading this story today have? I pay attention to these three points:

One is the chess game, which symbolizes fascism. Fascism wants to win, to triumph, to conquer, to hollow out everything else in man, leaving only the world of black and white, the chessboard of strangulation, and the iron logic of winning for the sake of winning. It is both the product of civilization and the alienation of civilization.

The second is Dr. B's "self-fighting" way of practicing chess, which symbolizes a certain gradually strengthening crisis of modern social thought. In the twentieth century, Freud discovered the id, the subconscious devil, the human desire, Pandora's box. In the world after Zweig, there have been racial conflicts, religious hatred, political polarization, social rift, black and white, technological alienation, and even the rupture of globalization and even war in the epidemic era and the post-epidemic era.

The third is the "scar" on Dr. B's body, telling us not to forget the scars brought by fascism, but also to obtain self-salvation of life through the control of reason.

Shortly before Zweig's suicide, he wrote to Gorky: "We want to unite with those who believe in humanity and do not believe in the twilight of the dead who worship fundamentalism and political strife, who remain deeply grateful to those who maintain humanity even in a time when humanity has become completely barbaric in a time when it is intoxicated with blood and clamour to kill." ”

Gorky's reply to him said: "When his beloved ideals were threatened by destruction, he stepped out of the environment of a lonely life... He is the mouthpiece of a disaster-stricken Europe, and he is the conscience of the world. ”

Eighty years after Zweig's death, we pay a deep tribute to the conscience and mouthpiece of such a human being.
