Longji Rice Terrace is located on Longji Mountain, Ping'an Village, Longji Town, Longsheng County, Guangxi, because it is a terrace developed on Longji Mountain, then it should be called Longsheng Rice Terrace in a broad sense, but in a narrow sense it is called Longji Terrace.
The location of the Longji Rice Terraces was found as early as 6,000-12,000 years ago, so it has become one of the birthplaces of artificially cultivated rice in the world. The cultivation method of the terraces has been formed in the Qin and Han dynasties, and in the Tang and Song dynasties, the Longji terraces have been developed on a large scale, and the Ming and Qing dynasties have basically reached the current scale, which can be called the original hometown of the world's terraces.
The Longji Rice Terraces cover the autumn harvest beauty of the alpine fields, the layers of golden rice grains, the magnificent momentum, the cloud-shrouded peaks, the unique Yaozhai, and the colorful style, which constitute this magnificent picture and have the reputation of "the crown of the terraced world". Longji Terrace is a general term for a whole scenic spot, and there are four terraces in its scenic area, namely Jinkeng Dazhai Hongyao Terrace, Xiaozhai Hongyao Terrace, Ping'an Zhuang Terrace, Guzhuang Terrace, and the most spectacular are Xiaozhai Terrace and Dazhai Jinkeng Terrace.
Jinkeng Rice Terraces have been published on television, and most of the opening credits of CCTV 12 and the Longji Rice Terraces promotional films that everyone often sees are from Jinkeng Rice Terraces. Especially in the summer and autumn, climb the "Thousand-Storey Ladder" observation deck along the cobblestone road and look down to see the cascading terraces piled up like ladders to the clouds. Continue upwards to the "Xishan Shaole" observation deck, where you can overlook the panoramic view of the terraces, which is spectacular.
Longji Ancient Zhuangzhai Terraces has a long history of original ecological beauty, Guzhuangzhai is one of the ancient villages with a long history in the scenic area, dating back to the Ming Dynasty Wanli period. Due to the traffic congestion and late development here, the original terraced landscape has been preserved, and the traditional dry-railed stilt wooden buildings distributed along the ridge are original and unique.
Also along the bluestone slab road, along the way to enjoy the history, telling the past stone bridges, stone monuments, stone carvings, etc., through the "Ancestral Field", to the "Changgou" observation deck overlooking the beautiful scenery of the whole village. When descending the mountain, you can stand at the viewpoint of "Youlongxia River" to see the terraces spiraling down like a giant dragon until the Jinjiang River, which is very spectacular.
