Zhongxin Network, Daxinganling, Inner Mongolia, April 9 Title: "Lone brave" on the Great Black Mountain: Decades of Day as a Day Found Different "Fireworks"

China News Network reporter Zhang Wei

Entering the spring forest fire prevention season, the watchmen stationed on the fireproof watchtowers in the Daxinganling Forest Area of Inner Mongolia once again entered a "vigilant" state. They are "lone braves" and watchmen, guarding the green Great Wall of the motherland's northern Xinjiang for decades.

"For more than ten years, decades, every year from the spring forest fire prevention period, until the snow-covered early winter, on this small position, our task is to find a different 'fireworks'." Zheng Hongshan, who is more than half a hundred years old, is still enthusiastic whenever he climbs the watchtower.

Zheng Hongshan is a lookout at the Great Black Mountain Lookout Station, and he guards the place with 3 colleagues. From the young man who is full of style to the uncle with frosted sideburns, the four lookouts with an average age of 54 years old have changed their faces and their original intentions have not changed.

Inner Mongolia Daxinganling Qierlin District has more than 420,000 hectares of ecological function areas, distributed with 10 watchtowers. The Great Black Mountain Lookout Station is 1600.2 meters above sea level, standing on the 22-meter-high watchtower, which can overlook 95% of the Qiuer Ecological Function Area, which is the top priority of the Forest Fire Prevention Lookout of the Chulsen Industrial Company and even the surrounding forest areas.

In 1987, Zheng Hongshan, a recent graduate, was assigned to the Tar Gas Forest Farm. In that year, a fire watchtower was to be set up in the Tal Gas Forest Farm, and it was necessary to arrange for personnel to be stationed to look at it.

"The fire watchtower is far from the forest station and home, and the average person shakes his head when he hears about this 'chore.'" The young Zheng Hongshan felt that it was quite honorable to be a "fire watchman", so he took the initiative to submit an application.

Although the psychological construction was done, the conditions of the observation station still surprised Zheng Hongshan.

"The original winch machine room used for timber production operations was covered with tent cloth and was a tower house." Nowadays, Zheng Hongshan talks about the days when he first became an observer, and he will actually giggle, in the early spring, there is a strong wind outside, a little wind blowing in the house, the snow melts outside, and the house is watery...

To and from the lookout station, the car can only send the lookout to the foot of the mountain, and the road to the mountain is all on its own. Carrying food, through dense trees, stepping on the grassy road, one foot deep and one foot shallow, at least two hours to reach the tower. "People don't dare to rest when they sweat, and when they stop, the sweaty clothes are like 'ice coats.'"

Seven or eight winds on the Great Black Mountain are particularly common, and sometimes the wind can reach 10 in an instant. The stronger the wind, the more the fire is high, and the more you need to look.

"In a windy weather, people stand on the tower, shaking, and their legs are shaking." Yu Wenpeng, who has been at the alpine fire observation station for 17 years, said.

For decades, the watchmen have practiced a pair of "clairvoyances" on the tower.

When he first engaged in fire prevention and observation work, Yu Wenpeng was nervous when he saw what looked like smoke. Therefore, he went up to the tower to observe the topographic features, and the lower tower measured and calculated the fire map, and finally understood the mountain shape, landform, road, and field point orientation of the Tuer Ecological Function Area.

Nowadays, once there is smoke in the forest area, Yu Wenpeng can quickly sketch out the location map, estimate the percentage of the forest fire area, distinguish the type of fire field and the main damaged tree species, and provide a basis for scientific fire fighting.

In the past 17 years, Yu Wenpeng has not once underreported or misreported the fire.

"Where the fire has been, the trees are scorched, black and dirty, and it is really painful to watch." Wang Zhengjun, an observer who has cleared the forest in the forest farm, loaded a car, and participated in the fire fighting team, has a different affection for this forest.

In Wang Zhengjun's heart, if he could not find the fire at the first time, it would be the most self-reproachful and the most unforgivable.

Every year, when Wang Zhengjun went down to the tower and withdrew his home, it was the happiest time for Wang Zhengjun, because it meant that this year, the forest area was safe and secure.

Chen Yufeng, born in 1969, has not been as long as Zheng Hongshan in the Great Black Mountain, but it has also been 22 years.

Insufficient power supply, no signal, a newspaper flipped through several times, "across the pot table on the kang"... When he came to the Great Black Mountain Observatory in 2000, Chen Yufeng felt that the biggest difficulty was loneliness.

But now, compared with the prosperity under the tower, Chen Yufeng is more willing to go to the tower to "enjoy" loneliness.

"One minute on the tower, 60 seconds of staring" is Chen Yufeng's working principle. Outside of work, his favorite is the scenery of the Great Black Mountain.

Mang Mang Xing'an, Ichimoku Nine Ridges. In recent years, Great Black Mountain has been rated as the "Most Beautiful Forest Campground" in China's forest tourism promotion site, which has become a tourist business card of The erlin District, and more and more tourists have come.

Sunrise and sunset, morning fog, mist and mist... As soon as he encounters a special weather, Chen Yufeng will record it with his mobile phone and send it to travel "enthusiasts" across the country.

Chen Yufeng told reporters that while doing a good job in lookout work and fire prevention publicity, he and his colleagues have also become the "spokespersons" for the beautiful scenery of Qiu'er, and they have made friends with tourists and recommended the tourism strategy of Daxing'anling to them.

Today, conditions in the forest areas are getting better and better. The grassy road to the Great Black Mountain has become a gravel road, the timber transportation road has become a cement road, and when you get on the car, people and supplies are sent to the top of the mountain; the lookouts no longer have to wear "hiking shoes" with layers of patches; the tower houses "draped" with tent cloths have also become more than 100 square meters of standardized scenic spot "small bungalows", with TVs, refrigerators, electric frying pans and other home appliances readily available.

4G network, common electricity, seasonal fruits and vegetables... This spring, the watchmen will also bid farewell to the history of carrying water to eat, and drink deep well water in the mountains. "The current conditions are too good and too good!"

Along the way, I can keep loneliness, endure loneliness, and bear difficulties... These "lone braves" who stick to the top of the mountain, the wrinkles on their faces, and the frost flowers on their sideburns record their love for this forest. They said that in the future, they will retire and if they are still needed, they will come to work as a lookout. (End)
