But from the perspective of our lives, since we have come to this world, we should strive to make people's lives meaningful and not let ourselves go through in vain.

However, there is a big problem that plagues us, and that is "persistence".

— Why is it so hard for us to stick to it?

In the past two years, I have explored a lot in the field of sports and fitness, on the one hand, to keep myself in good shape, and more importantly, to keep myself healthy.

For a person who doesn't exercise regularly or has exercised less intensely in the past, the hardest part is the time when he first started exercising, and I'm a good example of that myself.

At the beginning of the epidemic, I was locked up at home because of the epidemic, but I didn't want to let myself do nothing every day because I was at home, so I arranged a exercise plan for myself - going out for intermittent breaks, and guaranteeing about 40 minutes of exercise every day.

In fact, I am not a person who does not like sports, but before this, my exercise intensity was too low, and my physical fitness was also seriously insufficient, so at the beginning of the exercise, I could not stick to it for a while, because I was really too tired. But fortunately, I made up my mind at that time and let me get through that difficult time.

In the past two years, I have also met many sports enthusiasts, and I will also play sports with them, and I have drawn a conclusion from them: sports will really make it easy to give up at the beginning!

So, why is it so hard for us to stick to it?

On the one hand, persistence is really hard. For example, the physical hardship brought about by exercise will be easy for people to give up;

On the other hand, persistence alone will make it easier for you to have the idea of giving up. Like friends who often exercise with me, they will say, "If I don't exercise with you and me, I will not be able to keep going." ”

As we often say, "One person may go faster, but a group of people can go further." This chicken soup tells a truth: it is difficult for a person to persist.

Of course, I can't ignore the problem of choice, and if we have a problem with our choice, I won't let myself stick to it.

How do we deal with our own "insistence"?

In the years I have been writing, many people have talked to me privately and asked me how to persevere. Just like me, from 2016 to now insist on 6 years, and now for me, writing has become a very easy thing, I don't need to deliberately insist, but let writing become a very common thing for myself. Of course, this also has my secret.

Looking back at your own insistence behavior in the past, it is often a mentality that has not made a fundamental response.

For example, when I first graduated, I wanted to make myself more fruitful on the Internet, so I specifically found a lot of related teaching on the Internet. In the beginning, I really studied hard, watching tutorials, doing exercises, or even staying up late to make something. But then, the problem gradually came to light, I gradually could not focus on learning, while learning, while thinking about playing games, until later, the time distribution between the two began to appear one-sided, I completely gave up learning. That thing was also abandoned by me.

I reflected on it, but it was because I wasn't mentally prepared. At that time, it was just a hot brain, and I wanted to do that thing. But as the old saying goes, "One drum blows, then declines, three exhausts." "Often the things that the brain is hot to do, it is easy to let yourself give up.

Therefore, before doing something, we must be mentally prepared.

Just like before I write, I dedicate half a month to thinking, thinking about my future, thinking about every step I take, thinking about the difficulties I will face, and thinking about how to persevere. If you can't stick to it, it's meaningless.

Effort is indeed very important, but if the direction of our efforts is wrong, it will not make us gain, of course, it is not easy for us to persist. So we often say, "Choice is greater than effort." ”

But how do we make the right choice? Or to put it another way, how do you make choices that benefit your own growth?

I remembered a choice I made in junior high school, when our school was recruiting basketball sports students, and in general, students with bad grades would prefer to be a sports student, which was conducive to the examination. At that time, my grades were not bad, and I could get into the county high school with my grades alone. But at that time, I liked basketball very much, and I wanted to be a basketball sports student. However, at that time, I was very poor in basketball skills and athletic ability, just because I liked basketball. However, I did not choose basketball sports students in the end, and now that I think about it, if I really chose to be a basketball sports student at that time, I might have paid a more painful price.

Learning to make smarter choices is also a compulsory course for us.

I also have a few suggestions regarding the choice:

First, we must carry it clearly. For example, learning and basketball, which is more important in your life? Obviously, learning is more important, basketball is at best a hobby, even in order to become a professional basketball player, we also need to learn knowledge, knowledge is the most important thing to promote our growth.

Second, learn to listen to the advice of others. The so-called "authorities are confused, bystanders are clear", when we deal with a thing, we may be more emotional because we are the authorities, and we can't see the essence of things, we may as well listen to the suggestions of others to make better choices. Of course, I also want to understand that the decision must be in my own hands.

Third, travel through it - ten years later, how will you view your choices today? It also allows us to open up the landscape and take a longer-term view. For example, when we choose to settle for money or to give up immediate benefits for learning, we can use this way, and you will find that learning is far more precious than the benefits we see.

Fourth, you may wish to write out what you have in mind. When making a choice, we may wish to write down our inner thoughts, do not have any reservations, then you will be surprised to find that you can easily figure it out.

In order to make yourself better at sticking with it, planning is a very important part.

I have a few suggestions for making a plan:

First, there must be a long-term plan, but also a short-term plan, so when making a plan, you can follow the five-year plan, three-year plan, annual plan, monthly plan, daily plan;

Second, the plan is formulated according to the goal, so the goal should be reasonable, for example, if you just start to do self-media, you can't ask yourself to gain tens of thousands of fans in a month, which is basically impossible to achieve;

Third, the plan should be gradual, just like the movement, the plan at the beginning can be less, the arrangement is not so tight, but the later stage should be more arranged, otherwise it is difficult to progress;

Fourth, the plan is not set in stone, in the process of subsequent implementation, we also need to constantly improve the plan according to our own situation, which can make better progress, but the general direction cannot be changed at will.

Execution is the decisive part of the whole process of persistence, even if we are mentally prepared and well planned, but if we do not execute, we will get nothing.

Like I've seen a lot of people talk about doing something, plan it in detail, and seem to have made up their minds, but they just don't carry it out, and slowly they forget about it.

So what do we do if execution doesn't work?

At first, we can rely on the supervision of others, but in the end we can rely on our own initiative; we must let ourselves understand the meaning of persistence and the meaning of doing this thing to ourselves; we also need to arrange our own time reasonably, and let ourselves do something at the specified time, here you can use alarm clocks or other reminder tools; learn to reflect, find and improve your own problems in execution.

Execution needs to be cultivated slowly, and we can make ourselves a small thing at the beginning, so that we can be more confident, so that we are more willing to stick to it.

Persistence is not necessarily always right, and we need to reflect on ourselves from time to time.

So I highly recommend that you write about what you did that day every day, use a list or other way you like, see what you did in the day, and then think about where you did well, where you didn't do well, and how to improve.

We can also find someone we trust and ask him to give advice to make us better and more correct in sticking with it.

— Recommend something to stick to in the long term

Reading: Even if you take ten minutes of time to read every day (but you must concentrate), it is also very beneficial, not to mention that there is not even ten minutes of time, which is absolutely deceptive.

Writing: Diaries, summaries and impressions, book reviews, film reviews, professional articles, etc., starting from what you want to write, starting from 500 words a day, slowly increasing the difficulty.

Exercise: At the beginning, you can do some simple exercises, such as jogging, push-ups, sit-ups, and flat supports, first improve your core strength, and then carry out more intense exercises, step by step.

Learning: People have to learn continuously throughout their lives.

Go to bed early and get up early: If it is not a special thing, try to go to bed early and get up early, which will make yourself have a healthier body.

Thinking: People need to think about life, give themselves half an hour every day, in a relatively quiet environment, thinking about life.

A hobby of our own: We should all have hobbies, such as musical instruments, Internet skills, etc., even if we can't become our own profession, we should adhere to this hobby, which will make us love life more.
