Football.London reports that most of Arsenal's second-year cadets have been awarded new contracts at this stage, with many players already reaching agreements and others still in the process. But Remy Mitchell was one of the players who failed to secure a professional contract.

The 18-year-old Mitchell has been very busy this season, making 17 appearances in the Premier League U18, making appearances in the FA Youth Cup and playing as a substitute for the Under-23 in the English Championship and Premier League reserves. But Arsenal decided not to offer him a new contract.

Everything remains variable before the summer window, with many previous occasions when Arsenal youth players managed to secure new contracts in seemingly hopeless signings.

As things stand, Mitchell is free to join the new club at the end of the season.

Arsenal U18 have faced some trouble in the backline this season, leaving Mitchell with just four clean sheets in 18 games. But he's only part of the defensive end, and his teammates should take on some responsibility as well.

In the five U18 league games mitchell missed, the team failed to keep a clean sheet, conceding at least two goals in each game. When he came on, he made some wonderful saves, so the performances were not all negative.

Arsenal appear to have made a decision. If a new owner is to be found next season, Mitchell, like many youth players, will like many youth players, go to other teams for trial training.

On Wednesday, former Arsenal midfielder Nvarkali issued a statement on huesca's dismissal.

On Tuesday, Huesca announced through official channels that he had terminated his contract with gunners veteran Nwakali.

Huesca said they had informed the player of the decision and wished him good luck in the future.

Nwakali tweeted in response to the statement on Wednesday. He claimed Huesca sporting director Ruben Garcia had pressured him not to accompany Nigeria to the Africa Cup of Nations because "it is not an important event," and warned that playing means he will no longer be able to play for Huesca.

Nwakali further said that when he begged for unpaid wages to pay for his mother's hospitalization, Garcia responded that if he signed a new contract (his contract expires this summer), they would pay his salary.

On another occasion Garcia threatened not to pay his salary if Nwakkari did not accept a move to another La Liga club on 31 January.

Garcia and Huesca's lawyers are currently in discussions with the Spanish players' union, and Nwakali will have to train alone until the contract is terminated.

Nwakali added that Huesca still hadn't paid his salary and said he refused to sign an agreement to end his contract on Tuesday.

It's a shame to see Arsenal's old player in such a position, and we can only hope that the Spanish players' union can help him find an ideal solution ahead of the summer window.
