● In a recent study published in the journal Nature Genetics, researchers compiled genomic data from 111326 Alzheimer's patients and compared them with a control group of 677663 healthy subjects, and found 75 genomic regions associated with Alzheimer's disease, of which 42 were the latest findings. Studies have found that the degeneration of the brain in Alzheimer's disease patients may be related to microglia. Recently, Chinese and American researchers found a new fossil specimen of the paraodonts mastodont about 120 million years ago in the Rehe biota of Liaoning Province. The researchers said that the specimen is the only genus in the mole family known to date that preserves the skeleton and intact dentition, and provides very rich information for the morphological study of this taxont in terms of complete dentition, mandibular, skull and other structures. In addition, the researchers conducted an in-depth comparative study of the jaw and tooth structures of fossil specimens of the two main taxa of toothed animals, which provided new evidence for understanding the origin and evolution of mammals.
