It's another year of Qingming Festival. Qingming Festival, also known as The Qingqing Festival, the Xingqing Festival, the March Festival, the Ancestor Worship Festival, etc., is held at the turn of mid-spring and late spring. It is also one of the twenty-four solar terms, the fifth of spring. The Qingming Festival originates from the ancestral beliefs and spring festival customs of the ancient times, and has both natural and humanistic connotations, which is both a natural festival point and a traditional festival. Tomb sweeping and ancestor worship and outings are the two major ritual themes of the Qingming Festival.
The traditional Qingming Festival on the mainland began around the Zhou Dynasty and began as a very important festival. Later, because the days of Qingming and cold food are close, and cold food is the day when the folk fire is forbidden to sweep the grave, gradually, cold food and Qingming will merge into one, and in the old days, fireworks were not moved, only cold food was eaten.
Therefore, there are three major customs of the Qingming Festival:
1. Sweep the tomb to worship the ancestors, people have the custom of sweeping the tomb to worship the ancestors before and after the Qingming Festival, in order to remember the ancestors.
2. Stepping on the green, the people of the country have long maintained the custom of walking on the green and clear. During the Qingming Dynasty, spring returns to the earth, and the natural world presents a vibrant scene everywhere, which is a good time for outings.
3. Eating eggs, there is a food custom of eating eggs during the Qingming Festival, which originated in some places in the pre-Qin era, and the ancients believed that eating eggs during the Qingming Festival means that there is a good body for the next whole year. The eggs on this day of the Qingming Festival can not only be eaten, but also played, there are two main types of egg play, divided into painting eggs and carving eggs.
