Shueisha, one of Japan's largest publishing houses, announced that it will strengthen its game business, and on February 16, it has established a game subsidiary, Shueisha Games Co., Ltd. As a publisher of well-known manga magazines such as Weekly Shonen JUMP and V JUMP, many fans believe that Shueisha is likely to launch its own adaptation of IP games. However, Shueisha itself said it will maintain the current IP licensing business ecology, while Shueisha Games will expand new IP games.

According to Shueisha, Shueisha Games will try to use the style of JUMP editing, that is, with the author as the center, to play the specialties of manga editors into game production and try it in the game industry. Shueisha is currently preparing to launch several new games, and two large-scale projects are now under development, one for a mobile game designed by a well-known writer of Weekly Shonen JUMP, and the other for a new type of multiplayer game, the release date of which was not announced.
In the past, Shueisha has also funded a large number of independent game developers through "Shueisha Game Creator CAMP", including "ONI", "Ukiyo" and other works are expected to be released within this year. Rather than taking the IP licensing business that has become stable under its own management, it may be a good way to maintain the current level of expanding the new game IP.
