American astronaut Mark Van der Hai and Russian cosmonauts Peter Dubrov and Anton Shkaprerov returned to Earth from the International Space Station on the 30th aboard the Russian Soyuz spacecraft. Van der Hay stayed on the International Space Station for 355 consecutive days, becoming the longest-standing American astronaut on the International Space Station.

Previously, a number of US media questioned whether Russia would refuse to send US astronauts back to Earth due to a series of sanctions against the Russian rocket and space industry caused by the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. Russia's state space agency said it "never gives any reason to doubt its reliability as a partner."
