Fernandinho: Brazilians like friends to come to their places, but the pitch will be their own

In an interview with FourFourTwo, Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho talked about the showdown with Liverpool. He said both teams played the best football in the league with surprising intensity.

Fernandinho said: "Klopp took charge of Liverpool in 2015 and Guardiola travelled to Manchester City the following year and their showdown moved from Germany to England. Both teams played the best football in the league with surprising intensity, each with great players and different characteristics, which ultimately led to this fascinating duel. I love playing games like this, we know there's a historic competition between Liverpool and Manchester United, and City played that role to some extent when Manchester United were a bit faltering. ”

"I was very good friends with Lucas and Coutinho and then Firmino, Fabinho and Alisson joined Liverpool. Among us Brazilians, we all love that friends come to our places where it's full of barbecues and laughter, but on the pitch we fight for our respective teams. I played Coutinho a few times, but that's because he was too fast, otherwise I couldn't have done anything. Fabinho and I had some interesting duels in midfield and sometimes we would attack each other, but after that we would laugh and for us, respect was above all else. ”
