La Liga team Mallorca officially announced the appointment of 63-year-old Mexican coach Aguirre as the new manager, replacing the newly sacked Spanish coach Luis Garcia, which is Aguirre's return to La Liga after nearly two years, the Chinese and American coach who has played 381 La Liga games, is the 7th most foreign manager in La Liga history. Mallorca has completed the change of coach, with eight La Liga teams already changing this season.
Aguirre was offered a contract until the end of the season, and his task was naturally to help Mallorca qualify for La Liga, who has been in a terrible state recently, losing six consecutive defeats in La Liga and sliding all the way down to 18th in the table. It was the recent poor performance that made Mallorca decide to change the coach, sacking Luis Garcia, who has been coaching the club for nearly two years, Garcia has been coaching the team since the 2020-21 season, playing 78 games, with 35 wins, with a winning percentage of 44.87%, the Spanish coach has previously coached in Asia for many years, led the team in the Uae and Saudi Leagues, and has also coached Beijing Renhe twice.

Before Aguirre took over Mallorca, he took with him to Monterey, a Mexican domestic league team, who won the Champions League of Central America and the Caribbean last season, and he had previously led Osasuna, Atletico, Zaragoza, Espanyol and Leganes, as well as coached the national teams of Mexico, Japan and Egypt.
Aguirre has previously managed 381 La Liga games, ranking 23rd in history, seven games behind Emery, who is currently in 22nd place, and if he can successfully coach until the end of the season, he will become another La Liga coach who has broken 390 games. Among the foreign coaches, he can rank 7th in coaching, behind Dosik, Toshak, Domingo, Antic, Pellegrini and Simone.
