The newly released "2021-2022 Global Computing Power Index Evaluation Report" shows that in the fierce competition of the global digital economy, China is standing out in many fields such as artificial intelligence computing and digital transformation of manufacturing.
The Global Computing Power Index Assessment Report, jointly produced by Tsinghua University and international data firm IDC, provides a comprehensive assessment of computing power, computing efficiency, application level and infrastructure in 15 major economies around the world. The data shows that in the past year, the computing power scores of all countries have improved, of which China has increased the most, entering the ranks of the global leader with a total score of 70 points.
Li Donghong, vice president of the Institute of Global Industry Research of Tsinghua University: We found that every 1 point of growth in the hashrate index boosts GDP by 3 times in China, so hash rate played a very critical role in China's economic growth.
In particular, it is worth mentioning that the report shows that the manufacturing industry has entered the top three in the global computing power level for the first time, and together with the Internet industry and the financial industry, it has become the industry with the fastest growth in computing power investment. In 2021, China's manufacturing industry will spend about 15% of the global market on information technology, and it is expected to reach 20% by 2025.
From the perspective of computing power, countries are accelerating the layout of artificial intelligence computing power, and the proportion of artificial intelligence computing power in 15 countries in total computing power expenditure has increased from 9% in 2016 to 12%. Not long ago, China launched the "East Counting West" project to accelerate the evolution of computing power in the direction of greening and intensification by building a new type of infrastructure that is efficient and intensive.
