The traditional double wishbone adopts the structure of the upper and lower A arms, but on the Landu FREE, the engineers split the upper and lower A arms into two connecting rods, which makes the intersection of the two connecting rods extended, realizing the outward shift of the main pin axis, as far as possible so that the main pin position is close to the tire centerline position, theoretically allowing the vehicle to reduce the interference of the direction when passing through the bumpy road, and at the same time provide better stability when turning sharply.
The rear multi-link suspension of the Landu FREE uses an H-arm structure, because the rear axle needs to be arranged to drive the motor, and the H-arm linkage occupies less space relatively, making more space for the motor.
In addition, the shock absorbing spring will be arranged on the H arm on the general model, and the Landu FREE has deliberately designed a base at the bottom of the horn for installing the air spring, which can increase the travel of the air spring and be more conducive to the performance of comfort compared to the traditional layout.
From the perspective of chassis suspension, just 300,000 levels equipped with air suspension, has been able to make Lantu FREE independent, the most important thing is that the chassis uses a large number of aluminum alloy parts, the material can be said to be very conscientious.
Bumpy roads can't stop it either
The chassis hardware is good enough, but the rear suspension of the French car is not independently suspended with a torque beam, and the actual performance of the chassis is not also very strong? Yes, chassis tuning is the most important thing compared to hardware.
When paved with speed bumps (speed bumps staggered left and right), the left and right swaying of the Landu FREE car is not obvious, even if it passes at a faster speed, the suspension system can cleanly filter the vibrations, and the passengers in the car still have a good riding experience.
If you don't think the speed bumps are enjoyable enough, there are more undulating bumps and bumps. At a speed of about 15km/h through the bumpy road, the body sway amplitude is not as obvious as expected, the up/down 100mm adjustment of the long-stroke air suspension plays a key role, and even if it is a more bumpy road surface, the steering wheel will not appear in the case of thugs, and the design of the split upper and lower control arms of the front double wishbone suspension can make the direction more stable in this road condition.
Flexible strong man
The bumpy road surface made me feel the comfort and premium of the Landu FREE chassis, but the up and down adjustable air suspension can also have a sporty side. When the driving mode is adjusted to high-energy mode, the space suspension is reduced and the chassis height is only 133mm.
After the height of the body is reduced, the suspension compressible stroke becomes smaller, and even if the 2.2-ton big guy is driven in a more intense way, the suspension gives the body enough support. Even in emergency obstacle avoidance sections that require continuous change of direction, vehicles that hit the direction quickly can maintain good follow-up. I have to say that this strong man's next kung fu is really stable.
Everyday opening is two words: comfortable
Come to the daily road, use the comfort mode to drive this Lantu FREE, the suspension will be appropriately softer, the whole driving atmosphere is as "comfortable" as the name of the current driving mode. Of course, in some special working conditions, such as the need for emergency line changes, sudden encounters of bumpy road surfaces, etc., the suspension system will also recognize and take corresponding measures in time to ensure the comfort of passengers in the car.
But whether it is a comfortable mode or the most sporty high-energy mode, in fact, the electric door response of Lantu FREE is not very sensitive, and the floor electric step down also needs to wait for the power to explode, and it is not like Tesla's models to rush out, such electric door tuning is indeed less passionate, but consumers who buy Lantu FREE should not care too much about these.
As for the actual power experience, as long as you dare to step on it, the power will continue to be delivered to you, driving a bit like a large-displacement naturally aspirated engine, and the power is bottomless.
After all, this test drive is an extended range version of the model, then when the range extender intervenes in the work, will the engine movement be very large? The 1.5T four-cylinder engine acts as a range extender and is slightly noisy at start-up, but doesn't have significant jitter like the ideal ONE.
But I have to say that the carriage mute of Landu FREE is really good. Thanks to the low wind resistance design of 0.28Cd, Landu FREE does not have too much noise when driving on high speeds, except that the 20-inch Pirelli P ZERO tires will bring more obvious tire noise, but the quietness of the carriage is relatively good. If you can add an ANC active noise reduction function, I believe that the overall NVH will be further improved.
