FromSoftware has just released an updated patch for Eldon's Ring of Law for 1.03, including performance enhancements, quest line tweaks, and new NPCs.
The update brings a lot of changes, but it seems that some mission bugs have been fixed, and a new "mission stage" has been added for NPC Diallos, Nepli, Kenneth Hyde and goalkeeper Gottock.
The Nepuri mission, in particular, has confused many players due to its abrupt end. But the data-based voice lines in the network tests indicate that there are next steps to go.
At the same time, there was a new NPC, Jar-Bairn, which is located in Jarbug. Jar-Bairn is associated with Diallos, and his quest line has been added to the new patch.
Maps has added a new icon type that displays the names of NPCs to better mark their locations.
The "Imitation Veil" item can now mimic more new objects.
Bionic Teardrop was originally the Ashes Summoner of choice for players to battle bosses, but its damage has been reduced and its behavior patterns have changed. This summon was once their back, and although early reports said it was still a powerful option, its damage output is now much less than before.
Similarly, War Ash damage decreases and cast time increases. Unsurprisingly, this disrupts the current strategy of getting through the game in 30 minutes, but discussions in the SpeedSouls community suggest that there is confidence in the alternative, whether it is to use another powerful weapon or spell, or simply play with an old patch, it remains to be seen.
FromSoftware also fixed the Flame Felony + Eclipse Hook Sword curse bug, which is a PvP magic trick that will kill other players without much effort, and now it is finally possible to cooperate fairly with other players.
Still, BUFF remains a staple of the list of changes. Wizards will be excited by the reduced FP consumption of a range of spells, including Loretta's Great Bow and Kalia's Great Sword, while the trusted Pyroxene Grand Magic Now has a higher range and speed.
