Aston Martin Racing team worked hard to create a racing simulator for Vettel. First, the AMR21 car for the 2021 season was cut. Except for the cockpit, all unnecessary parts were removed, but the entire cockpit section was retained.
The interior is exactly the same as what Vettel uses. Even Vettel's seats, headrests and seat belts are copied as is. Here, three large monitors, a high-performance computer, speakers, and cameras are connected to create a simulator environment.
To achieve the feel of the actual operation of the F1, the steering pedal and the brake pedal are manufactured separately. It took several months from initial planning to completion, and a lot of time was spent on testing, as it was a separately customized simulator.
Vettel gives a new F1 car a nickname every year, this time it's called Honey Ryder.
