In the Tang Dynasty, the central government successively set up two major capital protectorates in the western region, Anxi and Beiting, to rule the north and south of the Tianshan Mountains. The construction of many military facilities represented by the Keyak Kuduk Beacon formed a complete town defense system for the four towns of Anxi, ensuring the effective jurisdiction and governance of the central government of the Tang Dynasty over the western regions.
