Latest news: In order to cooperate with the construction of the main station of Panxiang Road Station and related auxiliary facilities of the Western Extension Project of Rail Transit Line 2, it is planned to implement the closure of the Xumin East Road (planned Panhe Road ~ Panlong Road) section from March 11, 2022, and it is expected to be until the end of 2024. During the construction period, the section of Xumin East Road (planning Panhe Road - Panlong Road) will be closed for construction, at which time, the road section will be prohibited from two-way motor vehicle traffic, and two-way pedestrians and non-motorized vehicles will remain unchanged in the original traffic mode.
At the same time, in order to cooperate with the construction of this handover, the planning of Panhe Road and the planning of Huiding Road will be temporarily opened and the regional traffic organization and signal timing will be optimized to reduce the impact of construction on the surrounding road traffic. During the construction period, the traffic of the former Xumin East Road can be detoured through Panzhong Road, Huaxu Highway, Yinggang East Road, Planning Panhe Road, Planning Huiding Road and other roads. According to the design plan, Panxiang Road Station (tentative name) of the Western Extension Project of Rail Transit Line 2 is an underground two-story island station arranged along Xumin East Road, located between Panhe Road and the east of Panxiang Road.

According to the Shanghai Communications Commission's planning for the western extension of Metro Line 2 (Xujing East Station - Panxiang Road Station), the line will follow Xumin East Road and Xumin Road to Panxiang Road Station, and 1 station (station name is temporarily named) will be added to panxiang Road Station on the whole line. The main line is about 1.7 km long, and all of them are underground. The project is planned to last 3.5 years and is expected to be completed on December 30, 2024.
