After the events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, it seems that Obi-Wan Kenobi is in a bad position: fellow Jedi knights are hunted and the survivors are forced into hiding.
Lucasfilm owner Catherine Kennedy revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that the original script for Obi-Wan Kenobi was scrapped because it was too dark.
"Ultimately, we want to create a hopeful, uplifting story," she explains. ”。“ When you're going to start narrating after the events of Revenge of the Sith, Obi-Wan Kenobi, that's a tricky thing to do. It was a rather miserable time. You can't just tell any screenwriter that there's a story to be hopeful, and then you can come up with a script that reflects that feeling. ”
Worried about the tone of the Star Wars spin-off series Obi-Wan Kenobi, Disney decided to temporarily halt filming and rewrite the script.
The show's lead actor, Ivan McGregor, also admitted that the play's beginning was rather dark, "Obi-Wan was devastated at the beginning of the plot, lost his faith, and fell into self-blame for his inability to prevent his apprentice from falling into the dark side." He failed to stop it all, and I think it's obviously very heavy for him.
Even after rewriting the script, Obi-Wan's situation does not seem to be improving.
In the first trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader can be seen returning from the show, and with the introduction of a new villain, Reva, the Imperial Judge, Obi-Wan seems to be facing a rather difficult time.
Obi-Wan Kenobi will continue with Ivan McGregor as the classic Jedi, and Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader.
