In the men's 97 kg final, Yan Panpan, who participated in the Paralympic Games for the first time, won the gold medal with a time of 227 kg. He challenged the world record of 243 kg in the third, but failed.

"I'm thrilled to win my first Paralympic gold medal. The third 243.5kg didn't make it a little sad, but I'm happy with my performance today and have exceeded expectations. I will continue to work hard and hope to defend my title in Paris and successfully break the world record. Yan Panpan told Xinhua news agency reporters after the game.
