Recently, a photo was displayed on social media showing soldiers of the Independent 93rd Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Army driving a new Russian T-80BVM main battle tank into battle. Apparently, it was a tank captured from the Russians, flanked by a new "fossil" heavy explosive reactive armor, and the Ukrainian flag flew from the turret!
According to analysis, this T-80BVM main battle tank was captured by the Ukrainian army some time ago when it was fighting near the city of Aktika in Samui!

The T-80BVM was upgraded from the 300 T-80BV main battle tanks sealed by the Omsk Transport Machinery Factory in the plant, the main improvement was to abandon the outdated "contact" 1 explosive reactive armor and replace it with a new generation of "fossil" heavy explosive reactive armor, the turret and body shape is not the same as the T-80BV due to the additional armor, and the turret also shows the shape of a flying saucer.
In addition, the tank is equipped with a new gun commander sight, a new "Pine" U gun control system, etc., and the on-board radio system has been upgraded. The combat performance of the vehicle basically reached or even exceeded the level of the T-72B3 main battle tank.

The T-80BV tank also appeared in this war.
The T-80BV main battle tank is the predecessor of the T-80BVM, which is the model of the T-80B main battle tank equipped with "contact" 1 explosive reactive armor, and the early T-80B main battle tanks were basically upgraded to the T-80BV, which was also one of the most equipped T-80 series tanks of the year, and Russia and Ukraine were equipped after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
The Russian T-80BV main battle tank, like the T-80U tank, was mainly equipped in the Fourth Guards Tank Division. On March 4, in the village of Gnutovo, 25 kilometers outside the city of Mariupol on the coast of the Sea of Azov, a fierce battle took place, in which the Russians destroyed at least one Ukrainian T-80BV main battle tank and abandoned another Ukrainian T-80BV.
The Russian T-80BVM is still smallly equipped, and this time in Ukraine is the 200th independent "Pechenga" Ii Class Kutuzov Motorized Infantry Brigade from the Arctic garrison.
The brigade is currently operating near the city of Aktika in Samui Oblast, where at least 2 T-80BVMs were abandoned and captured by soldiers of the Independent 93rd Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Army.
It seems that these T-80BVM main battle tanks, which may have mechanical failures or runny fuel, were repaired, refueled and reloaded immediately after falling into the hands of the Ukrainian army, becoming the trump card in the hands of the 93rd Mechanized Brigade. Compared with its current T-64BV main battle tank, the T-80BVM main battle tank has a much higher performance, and it seems that Ukrainian tankers are stealing fun!
