On March 9, SAIC MG announced its latest sales data, global sales in February were 46,865 units, up 91.7% year-on-year and down 8.6% month-on-month; cumulative sales from January to February totaled 98,142 units, up 62.36% year-on-year. The popular model MG5 sold 18,000 units, an increase of 120.6% year-on-year, and sold more than 10,000 units for seven consecutive months, attracting the attention of young people in the sports coupe segment.

According to SAIC's strategic plan, the MG brand aims to achieve an annual sales target of one million vehicles by 2023. At present, SAIC MG has a total of 14 models on sale, including mg5, MG6 and MG ONE. Scorpio, which has just joined the MG5 family, is equipped with a 1.5T engine, integrates a more sporty and technological design language, and is even more attractive to young people than GAC Trumpchi Shadow Leopard, and is expected to become a new growth pole of the MG brand.
