Antarctic explorer Shackleton's ship was discovered a hundred years later

In this photo, released by the Falkland Islands Maritime Heritage Trust, antarctic explorer Ernest Shackleton's ship, the shipwrecked, the Enduring. Scientists say they found the sunken wreckage of the ship Enduring, a polar explorer Ernest Shackleton.

More than a century ago, the ship disappeared into the antarctic ice. The Falkland Islands Maritime Heritage Trust said the vessel was located 3,000 metres below the surface of the Weddell Sea. Last month, an expedition set out from South Africa in search of the ship. In November 1915, during a voyage to Shackleton, the ship was surrounded by ice floes and eventually sank.
