Global Ranking of Women in the Workplace 2022: Sweden is the best, south Korea is at the bottom for ten consecutive years
The Economist released the 2022 Glass Ceiling Index (GCI). The index shows that women still lag behind their male counterparts in senior business positions. Across the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), women make up only one-third of management positions and barely a quarter of board seats.
GCI ranks the countries with the best and worst fair treatment of women in the workplace. The assessment ranked 29 OECD countries by combining data from higher education, labour force participation, compensation, childcare costs, maternity and paternity leave rights, business school applications and senior job representatives.
According to this year's index, Sweden has been named the best place for women to work for the second consecutive year, followed by nordic neighbors Iceland, Finland and Norway. The Nordic countries are particularly good at helping women complete their university studies, get jobs, gain access to senior positions and take advantage of high-quality parental leave systems and flexible working hours.
South Korea has ranked at the bottom of the index for a decade in a row, with Japan and Turkey also at the bottom of the rankings, second-to-last and third-to-last, respectively.

Worry-free: Women are quickly matching men among highly educated people
51job continues to survey and interview nearly 8,000 fresh graduates from 65 well-known universities across the country, trying to understand the job search intentions, careers and directions of female college graduates.
In the survey sample, 54% of fresh graduates are women, which is in line with the current proportion of male and female graduates in colleges and universities. The proportion of women among the new graduates of the master's degree surveyed also exceeds that of men, and women are rapidly matching men among those with high academic qualifications.
There are more male graduates in science and engineering, while women have an overwhelming advantage among liberal arts, business, medical and law graduates. Among the respondents of China's top C9 university alliances (Tsinghua, Peking University, Fudan University, Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Nanjing University and University of Science and Technology of China), the ratio of science and engineering to gender is the largest, close to 60:40. The opposite is true for liberal arts and law graduates. Only 20 percent of respondents were men at nine top universities, and 12 percent were even fewer for law graduates.
According to the survey, 61% of graduates believe that "it is more difficult to find a job", and female graduates feel more strongly. More girls (26%) than boys (22%) choose graduate school. Female graduates expect the highest proportion of jobs in the "government sector".

Honeywell introduces innovative technologies for the production of key raw materials for plastics
Honeywell announces an innovative solution to apply Honeywell UOP's commercially proven Ecofining process technology to renewable naphtha production in the petrochemical industry. This new solution enables the production of naphtha from sustainable raw materials such as kitchen waste oil and animal fats at high conversion rates. Naphtha is a valuable petrochemical feedstock that can be widely used in the production of plastics; the olefins produced can be used to make other chemicals; and the aromatics produced are used to produce polyester products and other packaging materials. Producing naphtha from renewable raw materials such as kitchen waste oil can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50 to 80 percent (depending on the raw material) compared to using petroleum feedstocks.

Supernal, a provider of intelligent mobility services, announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the City of Miami in the United States to establish a comprehensive engagement framework to facilitate the development of advanced air mobility (AAM). Supernal is an upgraded evolution of Hyundai Motor Group's Urban Air Mobility Division, which was launched in January 2020 as Hyundai Motor Group's Urban Air Mobility Division and officially named Supernal in November 2021. Supernal is developing a range of electric over-the-air vehicles, with plans to launch its first commercial flight in 2028.
Iveco Group and Hyundai Motor sign a Memorandum of Understanding
Iveco Group and Hyundai Motor signed a Memorandum of Understanding on March 4 to explore the possibility of cooperation in car-sharing technology, joint procurement and mutual supply. The MO is an initial initiative to assess the potential for cooperation between the two groups in terms of technology and platforms, including components and vehicle systems. Areas of possible mutual interest involve electric powertrains and electric vehicle platforms, including fuel cell systems, vehicle automation and commercial vehicle connectivity. Iveco Group employs approximately 34,000 people worldwide, with 29 manufacturing plants and 31 R&D centers.
Chint Cambodia built a joint venture factory, and another intelligent manufacturing global base was officially put into operation!
SchneiTec x CHINT Cambodia joint venture plant officially opened in Bodhisattva Province, Cambodia. The plant will localize Chint products from production to delivery. It will also further improve the layout of Chint's global supply chain while expanding production capacity, which will help promote the development of the local power industry. The joint venture is the first medium-voltage integrated power equipment manufacturing enterprise in Cambodia's Bodhisattva Province. The factory has been officially put into operation, mainly producing 22 kV distribution transformers, switchgear, intelligent ring network switchgear, capacitor banks and other electrical products.
Oriental Qiyin received $30 million in financing
From February to June 2021, Dongfang Qiyin completed a total of US$83 million in Series C financing in four months, setting a record for the largest financing in the field of child rehabilitation and autism intervention in China. On March 7, Oriental Qiyin once again announced that it had obtained $30 million in financing from a well-known domestic fund. This round of financing will be used to strengthen the development of one-stop services for children's rehabilitation, and will also deepen the layout of multi-scenario intervention models, combined with the provision of more medical and integrated special education services. WuXi Biology releases TESSA technology to further scale up the production of cell and gene therapies
WuXi AppTec's CTDMO, which focuses on cell and gene therapies, officially released TESSA technology. This is an advanced manufacturing process that complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for the large-scale production of transfected adeno-associated viruses (AAV). The technology is independently developed by OXGENE, a WHOlly-owned UK subsidiary of WuXi Biologics, to reduce the production cost of cell and gene therapies by significantly increasing the production scale of AAV.
