Newcomer actors are gods in the first battle
The film "Day and Night River" is produced by Emei Film Group, co-produced by Sichuan Eying Xinshengli Cultural Communication Co., Ltd. and Huocheng Clay Institute Culture Media Co., Ltd., directed by new director Zheng Peike, supervised by senior filmmaker Liao Xi, yi Chen, young producer of Eying Film, co-producer Cao Xi, co-starring Zou Tao and Liao Yufeng, and Special starring Feng Jiamei.
The film tells that after a shipwreck, the old shipwright Xu Daliang (Zou Tao), who lost his son, became the new owner of the ship, while the captain's son Ma Dongshan (Liao Yufeng) re-boarded the old ship as a boatman. Along this river, two men with different identities embark on their own fateful journey, they re-acquaint themselves, and deduce a warm story from confrontation to reconciliation.
Producer Yi Chen revealed that this year's Pingyao International Film Festival exhibited a lot of strength, many films have been recognized by international film festivals before, before the expedition, everyone did not expect that this film can win the award, "unexpected surprises when winning the award, because it is not easy to win the award."
The filmmakers and Zou Tao cooperated for the first time, and when they saw his photos during the casting, the production team and the director first felt that "he is Lao Xu". As a result, Zou Tao defeated many powerful actors and played Xu Daliang, an old shipwright who lost his son in the film. Although Zou Tao has been active in grassroots performance education work, this electrocution starred, accurately interpreting the image of a taciturn and implicit father, bringing too many surprises to people.

The Sichuan elements are exciting
When the news of the award came, Sichuan filmmakers rejoiced. Yi Chen revealed that the film story originated from the director's personal life observations, and in 2016, Zheng Peike and Yi Chen began to write scripts as classmates.
In fact, director Zheng Peike's feature film debut is from the hands of the young creative team with the post-90s as the main force, and most of the main creative teams are Sichuanese. The film received strong local support when filming in Nanchong, Sichuan, and there are many elements of southern characteristics in the film, the creators speak an original Sichuan dialect, as well as the landscape of the Jialing River and the nanchong snack fat sausage dry rice, which can evoke the nostalgia of Sichuan people.
The script of "Day and Night River" spent four or five years polishing before and after, during which it was also selected for the project venture capital unit in the production of the Shanghai International Film Festival, and it received the attention of many people in the industry during the preparation. The film was officially launched in April 2020 when the epidemic eased, and it was also one of the first films in China at that time.
After returning home with a full load, Yi Chen laughed and said that he missed Nanchong's fat sausage dry rice very much, and missed the tired and happy days with his friends during the filming of the movie.
