When the People's Liberation Army asked Xie Weicai where he was going when he dismissed the prisoners, he replied that he was going to his grandmother's house in Jurong County, near Nanjing, and Hua Ye gave him a travel fee and handed him over to another demobilized captive soldier to take care of them and let them return to Nanjing together.
Unexpectedly, the captive soldier took Xie Weicai to Nanjing and threw him away, Xie Weicai wandered back and forth between Nanjing and Jurong and did not find his grandmother, and in a daze he followed a Kuomintang training team and ran to Yiwu by car.
