Yang Yegong, who vowed to defend his family and defend the country, served in the army for forty-one years and bowed to China's missile cause until the last moment of his life. In August 1991, Yang Yegong, then deputy chief of staff of a certain base, was ordered to prepare for the establishment of our army's first conventional missile unit; in November 1993, Yang Yegong successfully organized the launch of our army's first conventional missile. In July 1995 and March 1996, Yang Yegong was appointed twice, successfully realizing the strategic intentions of the Party Central Committee and the Central Military Commission. In June 1999, Yang Yegong was appointed as the commander of a certain base, and he worked hard with a high mental state, and finally died of illness due to overwork in July 2004.
