According to the information released by the Basketball Association, the player talent pool is classified according to the different formats of the game, according to the five-person basketball, three-person basketball and U23 three-person basketball, and the men's basketball and women's basketball teams are respectively configured to choose talents. The five-member men's basketball talent pool includes active CBA League registered athletes, athletes selected for the recent national team second team (19-22 years old) talent pool, and athletes who played in overseas leagues during the national team selection period. Yi Jianlian, Zhou Qi, Guo Allen, etc. were selected into the five-player men's basketball talent pool.
The five-member women's basketball team includes active WCBA League registered athletes, athletes selected for the recent national team second team (19-22 years old) talent pool, and athletes who played in overseas leagues during the national team selection period. Li Meng, Yang Shuyu, Yang Liwei and others were selected into the five-player women's basketball talent pool.
In terms of the entry criteria for Chinese coaches of the five-person basketball national team, in principle, the age is not more than 60 years old, and they should have one of the following coaching experience or coaching achievements:
1. In recent stages, he has served as the head coach or assistant coach of the five-person basketball national team or the national Olympic team (national second team);
2. In recent stages, he has more than 3 consecutive years of coaching experience in the position of head coach of the adult team;
3. During his recent tenure as head coach, he has achieved the top 12 results in the CBA, WCBA Basketball Professional League or National Games (Adult Group);
4. Chinese nationals who have served as head coaches in influential high-level professional leagues overseas in recent stages;
5. Chinese nationals who have served as head coaches or assistant coaches in other national teams with excellent results in recent times.

In addition, the Chinese Basketball Association also announced the list of three-person male and female basketball primary talent pool, the list of U23 three-person male and female basketball primary talent pool, and the list of three-person coaching talent pool.
