On International Women's Day on March 8, the national launching ceremony of the 2022 "Pink Storm" women's basketball tournament was held in Beijing, and the Beijing team and the Guangdong team had an opener.
Initiated by Song Xiaobo, director of the Youth Committee of the Chinese Basketball Association, the "Pink Storm" women's basketball tournament, with the Chinese Basketball Association and the Beijing Basketball Sports Association as the guiding unit, and the China Youth Entrepreneurship and Employment Foundation and the Yue Yuen Innovation and Entrepreneurship Public Welfare Fund as the supporting units, aiming to create a high-quality event platform for women who love to play basketball across the country to show themselves and help promote and popularize women's basketball. In particular, it is necessary to enhance the awareness of young people on sports events and let more female sports enthusiasts of different ages participate widely, so as to achieve the goal of helping to strengthen the foundation of Chinese women's basketball, strengthen the Chinese women's basketball team, and improve the technical level of Chinese women's basketball.
Song Xiaobo, the founder of "Pink Storm", believes that it is very necessary and urgent to create a basketball tournament with women as the main body at present, and hopes to build "Pink Storm" into an internationally renowned basketball event.
The opening match was played by Beijing against Guangdong, divided into small age groups and older age groups, and the competition was played in the form of 3v3. After that, the "Pink Storm" women's basketball tournament will be launched in 16 provinces across the country, through the competition to select women's basketball elites and train future women's basketball stars.
