In 1973, Xu Xiaoming joined Lai's Television (the predecessor of ATV). After the launch of two classic dramas of "Chameleon" and "Grace of the Earth", "The Hero Huo Yuanjia" was launched in 1981, which set off a ratings frenzy in Hong Kong.

Subsequently, Xu Xiaoming caught up with this wave of enthusiasm and successively launched "Chen Zhen" and "Huo Dongge", forming a classic "Huo Yuanjia" trilogy.
In 1983, these three dramas were introduced to the mainland for broadcast, and the streets were empty, causing a huge sensation.
Huo Yuanjia was a famous patriotic martial artist in the late Qing Dynasty, who was famous for his battle against the Russian Hercules Schifanlov, the British Hercules Obiyin, the victory over the Japanese Judo Association, and the founding of the "Chinese Jingwu Gymnastics Association" (later renamed the Jingwu Sports Association).
After Huo Yuanjia's death, his second son Huo Dongge inherited his father's legacy, carried forward the "Shangwu Spirit", and went to Nanyang to establish the Java Bandung Jingwu Association, making the Jingwu Sports Association a worldwide traditional martial arts organization.
In Xiang Kairan's "Biography of a Chivalrous Hero in Modern Times", Huo Yuanjia's story is written as a legendary novel.
In the 1972 film "Jingwumen" starring Bruce Lee, screenwriter Ni Kuang fictionalized Chen Zhen, the fifth disciple of Huo Yuanjia, who was highly skilled in martial arts.
Xu Xiaoming combined real history and deductive stories to create the "Huo Yuanjia" trilogy.
Huang Yuanshen and Liang Xiaolong are both talents discovered by Wu Siyuan, just like David Jiang and Dillon in Shaw's golden age, one is responsible for playing handsome; the other is responsible for martial arts.
And Huang Yuanshen is 12 years old to learn martial arts, studied under Ip Man, the image is much more handsome than Jiang David, and his skills are good, which is a strengthened version of Jiang David; Liang Xiaolong has fought more than 10 armed bandits on the street undefeated, and is stronger than Dillon.
The two play the master-apprentice combination of Huo Yuanjia and Chen Zhen in the play, which is a match made in heaven.
In "Huo Dongge", Qian Xiaohao, who was only 21 years old at the time, was at the peak of his appearance and martial arts, and brilliantly interpreted the growth process of Huo Dongge from a young hero to a generation of masters.
In addition to the three main actors, the supporting roles in the play are also very brilliant -
For example, Dong Biao plays Huo Endi, whose strict father image is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people; Michelle plays Zhao Qiannan, although a fictional character, but even Huo Zizheng, a descendant of Huo Yuanjia, has expressed his approval; Wang Xiuzhi, played by Wei Qiuhua, has led the trend of hairstyles in the mainland.
However, the years are not spared, and now it has been 40 years since the premiere of "The Great Hero Huo Yuanjia", and in these 40 years, the fate of the actors in the film has also changed dramatically.
1. Huang Yuanshen (as Huo Yuanjia)
Huang Yuanshen's handsomeness is comparable to That of Zheng Shaoqiu, and his kung fu foundation is stronger than that of ordinary TVB male stars.
When Huang Yuanshen was not valued in TVB, he switched to ATV, and after starring in two dramas of "Young Huang Feihong" and "Hero Huo Yuanjia", he quickly became popular throughout Southeast Asia.
Later, he starred in dramas such as "Pearl River Dragons", "Flying Flowers Month by Month", and "Unsung Heroes".
If Huang Yuanshen had continued to stay in the development of the film and television circle, he might have become a superstar like "Bi-Weekly Cheng".
Unfortunately, in 1989, he suddenly chose to quit the film and television circle, not only pushing off more than 10 film and television contracts, but also escaping into the empty door in the same year, becoming a disciple of Master Shengyi, with the name of Fa Yanshen, practicing at the Paulin Zen Temple on Lantau Island, Hong Kong.
As for the reasons for Huang Yuanshen's retreat, the Hong Kong media have also had different opinions. It has been reported that Huang Yuanshen chose to become a monk because he fell in love with Zhao Yazhi and was trapped by his love; some media believe that he starred in "Border City Dragon and Tiger Fight" in 1984, met Lin Guoxiong, who had a certain opinion on Buddhism, and was influenced by it and decided to give up the red dust and eventually became a monk.
However, in 2005, he chose to return to the customs and later moved to the mainland, living in the home of his son Huang Jiliang.
Today, he lives an ordinary and low-key life, rarely attends gatherings among friends, and has no plans to return to show business.
2. Liang Xiaolong (as Chen Zhen)
Compared with the deliberately low-key Huang Yuanshen, Liang Xiaolong's experience is much more legendary.
In 1974, Liang Xiaolong met the female singer Li Ailian when he participated in the action movie "The Tiger Goes Down", and the two fell in love with each other, and the next year the two entered the palace of marriage.
On January 6, 1979, Ellen Lai was attacked by a murderer who splashed water on it to cause disfigurement. In order to heal her, Liang Xiaolong exhausted his savings, and the two eventually divorced.
After starring in "Huo Yuanjia" and "Chen Zhen" became popular in the mainland, he had to choose to quit the film and television circle for some special reasons.
In the 1990s, Liang Xiaolong came to the mainland to do business, and in 1995 he married Song Jun, a girl from the northeast, after which the two had a pair of children.
In 2001, Leung made a comeback in the mainland and starred in the TV series "Chen Zhen's Sequel", and then in 2004, he participated in Stephen Chow's "Kung Fu" and ushered in the second spring of his acting career.
In recent years, Liang Xiaolong has been addicted to shooting online movies, but unfortunately, most of the films are bad films.
3. Qian Xiaohao (as Huo Dongge)
Qian Xiaohao starred in the TV series "Huo Dongge", and participated in the movie "Mr. Zombie" in the same year.
In 1984, Shao was already preparing to stop production, and as Zhang Che's closed disciple, Zhang Che took special care of Qian Xiaohao and introduced him to Hong Jinbao of Jiahe.
Just when Hong Jinbao wanted to promote his friend Lin Zhengying to launch "Mr. Zombie", Qian Xiaohao, who brought his own popularity, became a box office guarantee.
The success of "Mr. Zombie" led to a wave of zombie movie craze, from the mid-80s to the early 90s, the Hong Kong film circle was filled with a large number of zombie films and ghost films, and Qian Xiaohao also developed well during this period.
But with the rise of new martial arts movies, Qian Xiaohao's development in the showbiz circle has also encountered bottlenecks.
In the 90s, Qian Xiaohao began to transform, and in the two cooperation with Jet Li, he created two classic roles
One is Dong Tianbao in "Taiji Zhang Sanfeng"; the other is Huo Tingen in "Jingwu Hero".
The former is a typical brutal villain; the latter is a more cowardly positive character, both of which leave a deep impression on the audience.
In 2013, Qian Xiaohao starred in "Zombie" directed by Mai Junlong, although this film was not released in the mainland, Qian Xiaohao's superb performance through the Internet and the nostalgic temperament presented by the film were still widely praised by the audience.
Qian Xiaohao has thus become a hit in the mainland again, but in recent years, like Liang Xiaolong, he has been addicted to making online movies.
4. Michelle (as Zhao Qiannan)
"Immortal Goddess" Michelle became famous as early as 1976 when she starred in "The Legend of the Eagle Hero",
Considering that Michelle's acting experience should be more familiar to everyone, there is not much to say, and the following focuses on her emotional experience.
In fact, Michelle is Jackie Chan's ex-girlfriend, Jackie Chan after filming "Snake-shaped Executioner" and "Drunken Fist" overnight fame, with money on hand, began to frantically pursue female stars. And his first target is the film and television circle red Michelle.
After 6 years of dating Michelle, Jackie Chan and Teresa Teresa came together.
At that time, Michelle once couldn't think of it, and ran to star in several large-scale movies.
Jackie Chan now recalls this emotional experience and still feels that he owes Something to Michelle.
However, taking a step back, if the two do not break up, Michelle will not meet Yin Zhiqiang, the love of her life.
Because she was hurt too deeply by Jackie Chan, Michelle swore not to marry in this life, but after 4 years, she came together with football player Yin Zhiqiang.
The two have experienced 26 years of love and long-distance running, the relationship has been very stable, unfortunately, the creation of people, Yin Zhiqiang died of cancer in 2010.
In order to comfort her lover, Michelle also held a secret marriage, and now she is 66 years old, still single, and alone to guard this love.
5. Dong Biao (as Brother Horn)
Formerly known as Zhu Wenbiao, Dong Biao was Hong Kong's first professional jockey, and in 1967, Hong Kong Lei's television began to broadcast horse racing, and Dong Biao became the host and horse critic.
In 1976, Dong Biao began to enter the show business circle, participated in more than 50 movies and more than 10 TV series, and was highly respected in the circle, and his representative work was the movie "Rich and Powerful" series, and often made cameo appearances in Jackie Chan's films.
Due to his participation in "Crocodile Tears", "Earth Grace" and "The Great Hero Huo Yuanjia", Dong Biao was also well known to mainland audiences, and later he also participated in "Chen Zhen" and "Journey to the Tiger Mountain Again", which were once sensational.
On February 22, 2006, Dong Biao died in Hong Kong at the age of 72 due to organ failure caused by pulmonary fibrosis.
6. Yang Jia'an (as Lu Da'an)
Lu Da'an is one of Huo Yuanjia's apprentices, but his martial arts are low, and his appearance is mainly responsible for funny, like Huang Feihong's side of the tooth rubbing Su.
This character has a distinct personality and his image is also deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, so it can run through the entire "Huo Yuanjia" trilogy. As a result, Yang Jia'an was once popular in the mainland, taking over many advertisements and setting up a film company.
Later, Yang Jia'an simply turned to the development of the business community and established the Yang Group, a Hong Kong listed company, operating real estate, restaurants, wedding dress shops, motorcycle factories, travel agencies, etc., which once flourished.
But in the late 1990s, Yang Jia'an suffered a series of changes, first with his only son, Yang Zhongmin, 25, committing suicide in November 1999, and then in 2002, when he was arrested and imprisoned for his involvement in a murder case.
On November 30, 2002, Hong Kong businessman Lin Hanlie was shot dead by a professional killer at the Lu Yu Tea House in Central, Hong Kong.
After the incident, a total of 8 people who bought the assailants and perpetrators were arrested in Shenzhen one after another, and then handed over to the Shenzhen Intermediate People's Court for sentencing, and Yang Jia'an, who invested in real estate in Chinese mainland, was one of the masterminds.
He was later sentenced to life imprisonment and deprived of political rights for life.
During his years in prison, Mr. Yang did well, commuting his sentence to 18 years and 9 months in 2013 and another nine months in 2016, but remains in prison.
7. Wei Qiuhua (as Wang Xiuzhi)
Finally, let's talk about Pigo's favorite goddess Wei Qiuhua, who plays the Japanese spy Sakurako in the play, pseudonym Wang Xiuzhi, and has a relationship with Chen Zhen.
Wang Xiuzhi has a special identity, but she is kind in nature, and she is doomed to her tragic ending from the appearance, which makes the audience moved. Coupled with the good image and temperament of this character, it has won the favor of the audience.
The main creator designed a more fashionable outfit and hairstyle for Wang Xiuzhi, and "XiuzhiTou" once became a popular hairstyle for mainland girls.
Although the heroine of the series is Zhao Qiannan, played by Michelle, Wang Xiuzhi, who has a variety of styles, is more likable, and Wei Qiuhua's popularity has also covered Michelle, which is popular all over Southeast Asia and has a large group of fans in the mainland.
In 1995, in TVB Gu Tianle's version of "Divine Eagle Hero", the audience was fascinated by Li Ruotong's version of Xiaolongnü, but they were also obsessed with Baoma's version of Huang Rong.
And this version of Huang Rong is also played by Wei Qiuhua, she was 37 years old at the time, at the peak of her appearance and acting skills, although the Huang Rong in the original book is not likable, she won the audience's favor with her gentle temperament.
Wei Qiuhua longs for freedom, and in 2013 she came together with Sheng Pinru, who is 19 years younger than her.
But the relationship did not last long, and in November 2014, Sheng Pinru fell in love with Macau's strong woman Cai Yifeng and registered for marriage, while Wei Qiuhua is still single.
The years are not spared, 40 years have passed, we are also getting old, the "Huo Yuanjia" trilogy, because it is very classic, has been remade many times so far.
Zhao Wenzhuo, Jet Li, Chen Xiaochun and Zheng Yijian have all launched their own versions of "Huo Yuanjia", and after CCTV's "Huo Yuanjia" was broadcast last year, they also successfully received a batch of memory killings.
But no matter how many times it is reshot, no matter how well it is shot, it is no longer the same taste as before...
