"Leading" red education, the small docent course covers from the inside of the class to the after-school
A few days ago, the All-China Women's Federation recently announced the 2021 National March 8th Red Flag Bearer Pacesetter and Red Flag Bearer (collective). Among them, Wu Rongjin, a model of the times and the principal of Luwan No. 1 Central Primary School in Huangpu District, Shanghai, was named the national March 8th Red Flag Bearer pacesetter and was selected as the "Most Beautiful Strivers" in 2022.
"Why is the red scarf dyed red with the blood of a martyr?" A young pioneer's inadvertent question more than a decade ago made Wu Rongjin, who had been working for a short time, fall into contemplation.
Rooted in basic education for 27 years, Wu Rongjin, relying on the geographical characteristics of the school close to the site of the First Congress of the Communist Party of China, established the country's first red docent society for primary school students - the "Red Horn" small docent society, and in the past 17 years, she has trained more than a thousand small docents to talk about party history in children's voices, making the campus culture of loving the party and the country a common practice. She made good use of the most vivid classroom around her, laid a red background for groups of children, and planted the seeds of faith.
"I have worked with Principal Wu for many years and I remember when she first joined the school, we were in the same office. At that time, as a squadron counselor, in addition to class, she liked to take her children around, and she especially liked to participate in the children's squad activities. Teacher Chen Lili, the head of the "Red Horn" club of Luwan No. 1 Central Primary School in Huangpu District, still remembers vividly, once, they took their children to visit the site of a conference, the children were very happy, but Wu Rongjin raised her eyebrows. "In fact, at that time, such a situation was quite common, and compared with various venues such as patriotic education bases, children preferred to go to parks and outings." As a result, 17 years ago, Luwan No. 1 Central Primary School had the country's first primary school student docent society that volunteered to provide volunteer services for the memorial hall of the First Congress of the Communist Party of China, the "Red Horn" small docent society. Wu Rongjin led the children, and the uncles and aunts of the memorial hall discussed and polished the manuscript, using childlike language and vivid image storyline, turning the commentary into a wonderful little story.
In the past 17 years, the footprints of more than 1,000 small docents have spread around the surrounding red venues such as Sun Yat-sen's former residence, Zhou Mansion, and Taofen Memorial Hall. Nowadays, "Explanation of a Major Memorial Hall of the Communist Party of China" has become a compulsory course in Luwan Yizhong Primary School, and the 1330 students in the school can not only explain in Mandarin, English, Shanghainese, etc., but also through stereoscopic books, picture books, information cloud theater, etc. Even in the after-school service period of "Shenshi Campus", the little docents were still enthusiastically playing the allegro to study and practice hard, and these scenes made Wu Rongjin very pleased.
In the view of Yang Yu, director of the Propaganda Department of a major memorial hall of the Communist Party of China, Wu Rongjin is worthy of being the "frontrunner" of contemporary red education. From 27 years of teaching, Wu Rongjin sent away one class of students after another. When each student graduates, she will give away a card with her own contact information as a souvenir, which reads "There is difficulty finding 'Cloud Mother', any trouble is OK.". After having the WeChat circle of friends, many people noticed that as long as Wu Rongjin was in school, she would inevitably send two photos in the circle of friends every day. One is the "School of Love" in the morning, and the other is the "Corridor of Love" at night.
Wu Rongjin's "code word" hidden behind the photo is that as long as the "corridor of love" has not yet appeared, indicating that she is in school, everyone can go to school to find her at any time. Over the years, in addition to the students and parents who are in school and have graduated, they will come to Wu Rongjin, and even many students and parents of other schools will come to the "School of Love", hoping that Wu Rongjin can help them solve their problems, and she always tries her best to help.
"If I were to describe her in one word, I think it would be 'full of emotion.'" The person who said this was Wu Rongjin's apprentice, He Chunqiu, a teacher at Luwan No. 1 Central Primary School in Huangpu District. After working with Wu Rongjin for more than 10 years, He Chunqiu not only screened and polished hundreds of classic emotional education classes under the leadership of his master, but also, like other teachers, has long been accustomed to using a 15 to 20 minutes of emotional education special class every week to solve emotional problems for children, provide opportunities for emotional expression, and guide children to love themselves, love others, and have home and country feelings.
At last year's "Model of the Times" advanced deeds report meeting, Wu Rongjin recalled several details - when she was 6 years old in elementary school, she was the child who was the last to be picked up after school every day, there was no late nursery class at that time, but the enlightenment teacher Chen Peiyu would stay with her every day to the end; at the age of 16, in the teacher's training, Teacher Zhang Xiaochun would write a large comment on her weekly notebook every time to encourage her growth and progress; 26-year-old working in the school, the old principal Cheng Hua taught her how to pay attention to details in her work and left behind a "treasure" of emotional education.

As early as 2009, Wu Rongjin keenly captured the educational value of education informatization and took the lead in creating the "cloud classroom" as a new growth point for school development, providing students with learning space at any time, anywhere and on demand.
