Tong Shouling was born in July 1920. In 1932, 12-year-old Tong Shouling was admitted to the Peking Chinese Opera College and formally studied drama. He has successively studied under Du Fulong, Jiang Xinping, Jiang Miaoxiang and other famous artists, specializing in Peking Opera Xiaosheng, obtaining his true tradition, having both literature and martial arts, and constantly improving his art.
As the main actor of the prestigious "Tong Jia Ban", he cooperated with his sister Tong Zhiling, a famous Peking Opera performance artist, to perform many classic plays, successfully shaping various types of artistic images and deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.
