Josie: "A year full of fighting spirit"

SL3-class singles world champion Josie is looking forward to the 2022 Spanish Para International Badminton Tournament in Puerto Victoria next week, and she is full of confidence and expectation after overcoming injury troubles.

"For the first race of the year, I was in very good physical condition. Before that, I had competed nationally during the Christmas period, but for some reason I had some problems with my back and I had to go through a week of rehabilitation," she said in the interview.

"I became more focused. I now have a physical therapist. I also have a fitness instructor and my trainer on my team who will help me recover better. Her technique and guidance really helped me. ”

"I'm training with able-bodied athletes in school and Gopichand Badminton School has started a training program for athletes with disabilities. I was the only one in the beginning, but now we have about 20 paralympic athletes. Having a companion with you is a huge change. When you see this in training, it will have a lot of (positive) impact on you. ”

"My victory in Uganda gave me the confidence to travel to Spain," Josh said.

"It's my best form now and my game has changed a lot. I have new partners with Rusik and Sandia. The three of us trained together at school and we were all positive. ”
