Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio spent some time this winter circling St. Bart's 315-foot giant yacht, the Vawa II, owned by Swiss billionaire Ernesto Bertalelli.

The ship seems untenable, and Betarelli, who made his fortune in the pharmaceutical industry, is a philanthropist and renowned environmentalist with a particular interest in marine conservation. He is the co-founder and chairman of the Betalelli Foundation, which helped advocate for and designate marine protected areas and was instrumental in establishing the Chagos Marine Protected Area in the Indian Ocean.

Vava II was built by Devonport and launched in 2012. An aluminum superstructure was used; the beams were 56 feet high. The vessel is reportedly priced at about $150 million. Facilities include an Airbus H145 helicopter. The superyacht is powered by four MTU M70 engines, each producing 2334 horsepower. Cruising speeds up to 15 knots and a top speed of 19 knots.

The interior design is a "classical nautical" style of glitz and atmospheric modernization, including a large main living room and a large main salon with a full-size bar and custom sofas. It can accommodate from 22 to 36 guests.

Betareli's net worth is more than $8 billion. DiCaprio's recently released Netflix movie Don't Look Up became the second-most watched film on the platform in just three weeks of release, with a cumulative viewing time of 324 million hours. His upcoming credits include Martin Scorsese's "Flower Moon Killer" with Robert Di Nino.
