According to foreign media reports, the operation principle of the technology is to collect related data such as fitness exercises and head movements through the accelerators and sensors built into AirPods. When used in conjunction with the Apple Fitness application service, it will be possible to accurately detect and evaluate the user's movement details, such as the head tilting left or right or leaning forward and backward, and provide guidance and other messages. For example, when the user makes an arm lifting above the head, AirPods can record the data collected by the sensor and compare and analyze the corresponding postures associated with it to evaluate whether the user's posture is correct; if the posture angle is deviated, it will provide instant voice guidance instructions and suggestions, so that the user can correctly complete the group training.
In addition to motion guidance, the technology is also expected to be applied to the "Spatial Audio" function. When the user is active, the music song that supports the "spatial audio" version will automatically adjust the orientation of the surround sound effect according to the orientation of the user's body or head; if it is detected that the user has breathlessness or sudden abnormal health condition during fitness, the headset will issue an alarm reminder and advise the user to interrupt the exercise as soon as possible.
