In January, the joint venture small SUV remained Honda's domain, firmly occupying more than 50% of the market share. Among them, Honda Binzhi sold 18,395 vehicles, maintaining the sales level of the previous month, down 12.4% year-on-year. Honda XR-V sold 17,614 units, down from 20,895 units last month and up 3.0 percent year-on-year.
The two Honda compact SUVs sold a combined of 36,009 units, accounting for 59% of the market sales of the joint venture small SUV.
Other models are very different from the Honda SUV, and although the Volkswagen T-Cross tour armor has sold only 3727 units, it can already rank third. The Volkswagen Explorer, its sibling model, sold 2,637 units in January, ranking sixth. Together, the two models sold 6,364 units, which is only equivalent to 17.7% of Honda's sales in the small SUV market.
Toyota's two smallER SUVs were even more sluggish, with the Toyota C-HR selling 3,501 units, ranking fifth, down 38.2% year-on-year; and Toyota Yize selling as few as 590 units, down 86.5% year-on-year. Together, the two small SUVs sold 4,091 units, which is equivalent to only 11.4% of Honda's SUV sales.
In addition, the Audi Q2L sold 3534 vehicles, ranking fourth, and sales fell by 50% year-on-year. The Deep Skoda Komic sold 2,185 vehicles, ranking seventh.
Several small SUVs from the Korean series are not selling high, with Kia KX3 selling 1732 units, Kia Yi running 1643 units, and Hyundai ix25 selling only 1.
