Ubisoft's new IP Black Sail was originally announced in 2017, but the game is constantly skipping tickets, and Ubisoft always claims that the game is well developed, but this is not the case. The project was originally announced at E3 2017, but has faced multiple rumours of delays, departures and restarts due to reports of work culture and discrimination. According to Ubisoft's Q3 report, "Black Sails" will be released in fiscal year 2023 (April 2022 - March 2023).

Currently, Ubisoft has completely removed the Steam page and data content of Black Sail. In recent years, Ubisoft games such as Assassin's Creed: Temple of Heroes, Watch Dogs: Legion, and Far Cry 6 have stopped landing on Steam, so the reason for removing the Steam page may be that the game is close to release.

Ubisoft is currently largely satisfied with its progress and artistic direction, with officials saying that Black Sail is an open-world game with a multiplayer focus. According to reports, "Black Sails" is set in the Indian Ocean, including a fictional pirate paradise, which is said to be based on the island state of Madagascar. Of course, there is also a land part, where players can interact with NPCs in hiding or safe places, third-person viewing, without any combat or parkour elements.
