On February 24, the reporter learned from the Xianju Branch of the Taizhou Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment in Zhejiang Province that the Xianju Biodiversity Museum is the first museum in Zhejiang Province to take biodiversity as the theme, and is currently listed as one of the key projects of international cooperation between Xianju National Park and the French Development Agency, and the museum will open in March this year.
According to Zhu Hanbo, deputy director of the Xianju National Park Management Committee, Xianju has a subtropical monsoon climate, and the mountainous hills and other landforms are rich in types and have a good ecological and natural foundation. Since the launch of the plant and vertebrate expedition in 2019, the county has recorded a total of 2,044 species, of which 225 are rare and endangered wild animals and plants.
Walking into the Xianju Biodiversity Museum, the exhibition hall covers an area of about 2800 square meters, which is composed of five main exhibition halls, including geological landscape, ecosystem, animal diversity, plant diversity, and ecosystem. The museum details the volcanic geomorphological landscape and complete evolution sequence of Shenxianju Geopark, presents the typical vegetation and animals of Xianju in the form of specimens and models, and displays the scientific research results of biodiversity.
It is reported that the Xianju Biodiversity Museum will cooperate with colleges and universities and scientific research institutes to carry out research and investigation, play a platform and window role in biodiversity science education, ecosystem protection research and Sino-French academic exchanges, and build an important carrier for the mainland to implement the Convention on Biological Diversity.
