Keane recalls a fight with Schmeichel after drinking: he has blue eyes and admits his mistake to Ferguson

Live bar On February 25, Manchester United star Roy Keane recalled an argument with Pete Schumichel in the hotel, they had a fight in the hallway late at night, and finally Schmeichel's eyes were swollen.

"When I came back from injury, Pete didn't want to give me the captain's position, so there was a bit of tension between us," Keane said at the Overlap Live event, "The relationship was strained, we didn't like each other, but I'm glad he's our goalkeeper, you know what I mean." We drank in preseason as usual until three or four o'clock in the morning. I said something to Pete, and he was waiting for me outside the room. I went to Nichy-Bart's room to eat sandwiches, he was such a crazy guy, there were no women in the room and no contraband, only sandwiches! I walked out of the room and Pete was waiting for me and he said 'I've had enough of you!' I remember walking by and I was thinking, 'You've had enough of me?' Let's get started', obviously we had a fight, it seemed like a long time had passed, but I guess it was about two or three minutes. ”

"Believe it or not, Bart was involved, he was always on the scene, and if something happened somewhere, good or bad, Bart would be there, just like when he was playing. I stayed in a room with Dennis Elvin and it was interesting that we were late the next morning. Dennis Elvin is a very direct person, and I think he goes to Mass every Sunday. Dennis said 'Roy, we're late', I said 'Dennis, are you xx shut up okay?' You give me a headache'. ”

"We were sorting our own backpacks in the room and he was yelling at me while my hands really hurt. I said to Dennis 'I must have had a fight last night, but I don't remember'. We got on the bus and Ferguson went crazy. I walked to the back of the car and asked Butty what had happened. I said, 'Do I vaguely remember, did I get into a fight with Pete?' and Pete was wearing glasses, and it was early in the morning. There was a press conference later and two players had to attend, and that was me and Pete. Finally, Pete took off his glasses and his eyes were blue. When we got back to the Manchester base, Ferguson called us and he was angry and said's you two are a disgrace to the club and you're going to be fined. He said Sir Bobby Charlton was on the same floor as us and said we were a disgrace to the team and I was thinking 'He could have stopped us from fighting!' ’”

"Honestly, we had a great dressing room atmosphere at the time. To be fair, I would have given him a little bit of trust in Pete, and he said to Ferguson, 'Coach, it's all my fault, I was waiting for him in the hallway', so he took on the mistake and after that it was okay between us. It's good to be able to remove tension between us, but it's a great fight. ”
