According to Bahia officials, the team's goalkeeper Danielo Fernandes, whose face was scratched by glass, has been taken to hospital for treatment, and defender Matheus Bahia's arm has also been scratched.
A passing car next to the club bus was also severely affected, and a woman was injured.
According to Bahia boss Guto Ferreira, at least three explosives were thrown onto the club's bus at the time and Danilo Fernandes had his eyelids scratched and "could have lost his eye if he had been any closer".
Brazilian police are currently investigating the bombing, and Universal Sport said police would inspect the two vehicles that were attacked and look for possible evidence and clues.
